I am in this boat right now. My beautiful mare just turned 32 in April, and has been diagnosed with Cushing's. She colicked in January, but seems to be doing much better. It's getting harder and harder for me to leave the property where I board her. 😔

I don't think parachute cord or climbing rope is supposed to be used for lariat, lasso, or reata roping.

Biology and wild living have genetics that aren't tampered. Nature is the authority. We humans think we know better, due to domestication. WRONG. Go back to biology❤

Thank you for the info and perspective! As a plant lover, I'd say it is the same with native plants versus non native ones: once we take them out of their environment, they need our care for survival.

Here cause it showed up on Google, why is this a question? If you have your spurs on, don't bother taking them off because you're going somewhere. If they're not on, don't bother putting them on just because. Wear them as long as you want if you're riding that day. When it comes time to take the boots off, take the spurs off, and don't bother putting them on if you're not riding. Shouldn't be a question, they're workwear, would you bother questioning if you can wear your carhartt jacket in public?

Funny, they don't have very good video of cowboy boots. Someone from China must be making v this video with the computer voice. I know about these voices, I work on vids for a living.

This video needs to be renamed "why you need to soften a rope," because that's what it's really about. The actual "how-to" tips could have been 10-15 seconds, instead of having to listen to that automated voice repeating itself over and over for three minutes.

Give credit where credit is due. Lazar, lazos (lasso and lassoeing) as they are know today are a Mexican invention. the Spaniards did not know how to handle a rope in this way and they only used garrochas and jarretaderas. Mexicans started lassoing in the large Haciendas and they also started bullriding right after they would lasso the bull they would ride it. Just for fun because they could and because they wanted. Back in the time there was no sensitive Disneyland nor t.v. Shows. That was how Mexicans would have fun roping and riding bulls or cattle in general.
