Thanks for another great Maddog video. I first flew it when it came out in FSX and it quickly became my favorite. The Leonardo group have always done a wonderful job making this “Study Level” from the start. Keep up the good work.

@@Boscoh_ It’s a really good start, but there’s a lot of work to be done on it still. I’ve gone back to the PMDG 737NG.

What do you think about this jet? I haven't gotten around to learning it because I wasn't that impressed with it's handling characteristics, feels kind of twitchy on the ground and in the air to me. Other than that, it's very good looking, just not sure I want to invest the time into learning it since I've got the Just Flight catalog of older planes that handle great.
@tonyf6523 ай бұрын
@@CaptainChairbus I’m trying to give it a fair shot. It seems cool for sure and it’s getting better the more I learn and practice in it. Not sure I’ll become obsessed with it.

It's pitchy and sensitive on that axis though - as you can see in my attempts at making a classic 727-style rotation.

Has potential but I'm not flying it, too many weird quirks like poor click spots, reverse logic on switch commands, and lacks in sounds/modeling. Hopefully they'll continue to update and improve the plane.

It wasn't bad for as infrequently as I've been able to get to MSFS lately. :) The winds ended up picking up to 19009G19. Half the headwind and all the gust, I added the maximum 15 kts onto my VREF. In hindsight, I probably could have just done 10 since it was all crosswind and no headwind. Wasn't pretty, but it was decent from a technical perspective.

Man, you are so slick with that autopilot going to VS mode and keeping N1 when VNAV is pitching the nose too abruptly in turbulence. Here I am thinking I invented that technique 🤣.
@tonyf6528 ай бұрын
Unfortuantely, the PMDG 737 in MSFS is a little bit pitchy. It could use a bit more smoothing out, it's too rough. The main purpose for my two uses of V/S on this climbout was to accelerate but without going below 1000fpm. Technically, using V/S in a climb is taboo at most airlines; or at least frowned upon. But I trade that "realistic license" for the unrealistically pitchy nature of the PMDG 737. :) So it balances out, realism-wise.

Thanks! The other airplanes were just there at the time of replay. Usually I try to look around and make sure that my replay won't be an obvious interference to other players... but sometimes I'm crunched for time and need to get the replay recorded as quickly as I can.

@tonyf6523 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you!!! The Flysimware Falcon 50 is so cool! Its not the Falcon’s fault that it took me the entire equatorial circumference of the earth to start getting semi-consistent landings. :) You’ll notice that every time I switch planes, my landings go to heck and my errors go way up. That’s what helps in real life - just flying one plane.
@terryt55123 жыл бұрын
@@tonyf652 Agreed--the FSW Falcon requires a particular skill set, as do most other complex airplanes. I'm really hoping that they eventually develop a version of it for MSFS 2020. That would be flightsim Nirvana. 😁

Oh thank you!! I'm glad you enjoy them! The climbs-to-cruise are probably a little extra - I find myself skipping through them all the time. lol But it helps to have it recorded and saved if I forget to write down the time and fuel numbers at top of climb when I'm trying to bias the PFPX profile to be a little more accurate. :)
