Your style reminds me of Richard Druitt, from whom I learned Yang Short & Long forms many years ago in Oxford 😊

Thank you for the videos and agree with Linda below that is was a little 'challenging' to hear your voice.

Interesting! I was just thinking how the directional changes would be good for developing dynamic balance, when you started explaining the cardinal / diagonal pattern.

It is so strange but not so strange that there exists another Angus Clark that played with Kitaro e.g. Kokoro... Not so strange...

Lovely to see primroses along the bank. Your ‘five minute Chi Gong’ videos are really helpful, thank you!

Yes, the primroses, battered this year by rain and snow, still manage to bloom so wonderfully! Really pleased to hear that the Chi Breaks are helpful for you.

I did Tai Chi for years when I was younger. I forgot so much over the years. I’ve recently gotten back into it because on an injury - I was looking for ANYONE who had white crane and I found you. I am so grateful for you and your videos. It’s helping me restore my body. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hi Erin, it's so good to hear how helpful the White Crane Qigong is for you. I am currently running an online practice group on a Monday evening 7-7.30pm UK time. Not sure how that translates into Texas time and whether you'd like to join? You're welcome to email me if you'd like details: [email protected] Meanwhile wishing you more restorative practice :) Angus

9:13 First time I came across Tai Chi was at an NHS-funded class for patients recovering from heart attacks, set up by the Cardiac Consultant and run by Quincy Rabat in a Surrey hospital. He demonstrated this “rooting” and described how energy flows from one foot into the earth and circulates into the other. So glad I took my Mum that day and stayed to see what the class was about: went on to learn Yang style. Just surprised that this teacher’s explanation comes at the end of his workshop, not early on 🤔. Could you please add some info about Fred Hao to the video description?

Im not sure if you still read these comments, but i hope you see this one. I had your book on Tai chi in prison and thanks to your excellent instruction was able to learn the form and mentality of tai chi. I mastered it just from the book. I healed my damaged body and healed my damaged mind. Your work has had a legitimately life changing effect on me. Thank you great teacher. If there's ever anything in my power i can do for you, I'm at your service.

There are key self-defense principles which CMC never broke. In cloud hands the upper arm should not be parallel to the ground. The elbows should always be near the ribs and a hand should be in front of the face. The form is often shown with a "yes, please hit me in the ribs, or, yes, do grab and break my thumb."

Unfortunately this is useless for the beginners. It may be good for those who know the movements and want to see how they are combined and how to achieve the proper " flow." But if you are not introduced to single movements (analytically, indicating where the first movement starts and the second begins) there is no way that you will be able to learn them properly. So this is Tai Chi for beginners in disguise, because you will never be able to learn the movements properly by watching this. And the fact that the presenter wears long pats does not help, either.

you should never learn tai chi from a video but his demonstrations on the moves are very clear for those with eyes
