I was looking for the most passionnate performance of that song and that may be it. Before the new "funky cynical" arcade fire, man, what a band it was. Antichrist is still in my top 5 lyrics of all time, such an incredible text.

I mean, this song is about a hypocrite who sexually and commercially exploits his daughter and tries to just justify it using religion. It’s pretty cynical.

@@nritsch critical, not cynical. But its "role playing", opposite of what I refered to 3 years ago when AF was all about low hanging fruit social commentary in their lyrics

Patrick Watson is such a talent. Not to be all like that, but I'm totally jealous. Shame on me. This song makes me think of a special someone every time I hear it. We'll see each other again, someday. I hope. <3
