Looks like a tool that could easily take the body off, leaving the tick's head to burrow down into the skin. O'Tom tick twisters are my favourite tool for getting ticks out. Followed by giving the tick a bath in bleach.

What time of the year was this? April, May, etc? How cold did it get during the night? Thanks!
@gpbmike

+Michael Sauls Hmmm. I think it was right there on the April/May cusp. I don't remember it being really cold at night but it was windy on the bluff we camped on. Check the weather before you go and be sure to account for elevation.

NO. Because that puts the tick in a traumatic state and lets go more bacteria. Burn it after you remove it.

There are different types of Tick remover, most are a little like a tiny hammer claw. you can get them from most outdoors bush-crafty type places.

The way to charge it is the sticking point for me. I bring my GPS when I'm going somewhere I'm not familiar with. It lasts for days of hiking. If I were to use my phone to track my path it would last for hours.

I stopped using my GPS when I got my iphone it carries the same garmin software plus the motion X, with which I can download map tiles before I go to an area. And its also a phone, ipod, game console, camera, diary, etc. All you need is a sturdy WP case and a way to charge it.

man listen to that echo, must be ear spitting up close like that, I have heard others of the east brother but never with the volume jacked up like this nor in high definition, and I know that a f2t diaphone like it has is very deep and can be heard for 10 miles under the right conditions.

Great Video! I remember walking through the cave during that really wet week last year, the cave was flooded knee high. Water was ragging so hard you couldnt see the steel bridge to cross into the staircase which had water flowing down the steps aswell.. Oh, and not to mention it was pitch black! Best hike ever!

Just saw your posting - you did a nice job. I have the K58 and love it. The only difference is about 2.5" more in height, basicaly the top compartment is a bit larger. Mike

@thewaycreates I know what you're talking about but it doesn't bother me. I put a water bladder in that space and even with the pack fully loaded the bladder tends to conform to my back.

@mullensk8ter15 I use it for 3 day, 2 night trips, but I split some stuff between my wife and I. She carries the food and I carry the tent. I don't use the straps for a sleeping pad, but that's what they're there for.

@gpbmike Thanks for the prompt response! Unfortunately I have no option of trying them on because in the UK we don't have Kestrel Osprey bags (only the 48 one online). I was asking you because I'm going on a 2 night and 3 day hiking trip and I wondering if a 48 will do me good (sleeping bag, 2-man tent, roll mat, rainproof jacket, food, stove and gas, medical kit etc...)? Can you put the mat on the outside near the botto musing the straps while having a sleeping bag in?

@gamerlayne It would be great! They were holding a party after the show where you could request music, but I wasn't able to get into that because I couldn't drive around at the time. Now that I have my drivers lisence, I hope that next year I can request some Urfbownd music.
