It is in English. You just don’t understand the accent. It’s a box junction. The instructor is telling the student that he can’t see in front of the van, so best to slow and stop before the box and wait until there is clearance, rather than just chancing it

@@SiRhodesDriverTraining Yes. I got the right filter, so moved off. At first my instructor was telling me how far forward to go to make the turn; "Keep going. Keep going" but then I lost the filter. I should have stopped, but was too focused on getting into position to turn to realize. I lost focus on the lights. As I'm still edging forward, waiting for the instructor to tell me when to start the turn, he begins saying; "We can't turn yet. We can't turn yet." Meaning, we have lost the filter, so we must wait. I misunderstood that as him telling me we haven't gone forward enough, so I kept creeping forward, waiting for him to tell me to turn. All of that in just a few seconds. Then I just hear; "You've f**ked up big time now!" Thankfully the traffic held back and we barely made the turn, but it was a frantic combination of myself focusing on the wrong thing and the instructor's instructions not being very clear. We were on two completely different pages. I asked him; "Why didn't you just say stop???" If I hear stop, I stop!
@SiRhodesDriverTraining4 ай бұрын
@@2KXMKR We have all had mix ups with instructions at times. That filter is fast at times and even in the car, if the learner sets off a bit too slow we can lose it. It’s a long run up from stop line to point of turn as the stop line is far back so big vehicles can exit Newbrook Rd.

Good on you for letting the bus driver go ahead of you, the other day my older sister was driving and she was going to merge lanes to give a bus driver more space to merge into her original lane and when she indicated, checked and then started moving, someone on their p's sped up and almost hit her and also beeped at her, if my older sister would've been hit it wouldn't have been her fault as she had checked and the other driver sped up, so thank you for being a responsible driver.

It staggers me just how many drivers will not do this. Are they more important than an emergency vehicle responding to an emergency call? I think not!
@SiRhodesDriverTraining5 ай бұрын
@@Richard-Bullock self importance is a big issue mate. Also, this was an ideal scenario to when not to stop. At first, the Ambulance may not have gone the same way as us so, if we did stop, we are causing more problems. Whilst going into the new road, the ambulance indicated to turn the same way so deal with it then. Too many people stop dead when they don’t need to. I’ve even had them stop in front of me when an Ambulance is coming the other way on a completely clear road.

There’s only 1 thing that confuses me, I always thought you’re not allowed to cross a solid white line to enter a hatched area but in the online book know your traffic signs it says you must not cross a solid white line to enter a hatched area except for the reasons mentioned for double white lines under the overtaking lanes section.
@WayneTulip-zm9gw8 ай бұрын
You can cross a solid white line to overtake a stationary vehicle blocking the lane or to overtake a bicycle horse or road maintenance vehicle if they’re travelling at 10mph or less so if they’re doing 11mph then overtaking them on a solid white line is not allowed, unless they’re going very slowly then it’s pretty much impossible to work out if they’re doing 10mph or more or less, best to play it safe and wait until there’s a broken white line.
