this video makes it seem so easy to get penpals, but it actually is so damn hard since instagram removed the newest post feature for hashtags, 99 out of 100 times when you find a post of someone with a similar aesthetic their penpals are closed, doesnt matter how many hours you spend going through the cute posts under the penpal hashtag also the chance of then vibing with the 1 person out of 100 when you finally find them is like 0 this all sounds way more negative than i meant it to be lol its just always so sad seeing these videos and getting exited, wanting to penpal again but then not finding anyone (i used to penpal alot between 2018-2022)

@@simpingtoomuchforjo I’m really sorry if this video came across that way.. when I first started penpalling the first month I already had 4 penpals [all from instagram] but I can understand that it can be more difficult for others now. what I think helps is posting reels too! It doesn’t need to be to extra or anything but I think reels get way more attention than posts so it can actually boost your engagement ! For me reels really helped me get more audience and find new penpals :) I think if you want to be accepted as a penpal you kinda have to put yourself out there you know ? Also you can take inspiration from other penpal Instagram accounts on their introductions and bios

@@simpingtoomuchforjo hmm make a reel of a journal spread or one of those reels where they show all their trinkets like you know the “the loot I’d drop if I died” or “the loot I’d drop as a video game character” trend and they have all their interests everywhere ? HAHA!! also I’ve seen people do “making a fake penpal until I get a real one” reel before and I think ITS SO CUTEEE (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
