First time making my own hydroponic system rather than a premade one, this was helpful for that so thank you :)

Thanks for sharing some tips. I think the square tube is much better than the round tube for making this tower.

does the pump work 24/7 ? or is there a programmable clock? if so what is the timing ? does each plant have a different timing? thanks you so much

have you ever looked into the kratky method?

Cool build. Only thing I'm concerned with is it being somewhat "top-heavy" with just a five gallon bucket for an anchor. How did it do in the wind?? Thanks!! I may just only use three sides and secure it (somehow), to my privacy fence.

Will this work in a 5 gallon bucket

Nice setup! I live nearby and am struggling getting my hydroponics system to produce anything. I was wondering if I could ask a few questions on the topic via e-mail?

I live in the Murrrieta CA area and am having some serious difficulty growing my plants outdoors via hydroponics. I was wondering if I could run some questions by you back-fourth via e-mail.

PVC vinyl fence cement is nothing like two part epoxy. Nothing.

What are the lower walls of your greenhouse made of? Is that some sort of cement board like hardie backers? I've been thinking of doing one similar to yours with those plastic roofing panels.

The worst thing you might have done here was to cut the excess part of your tower because you foolishly thought the pump couldn't handle the actual height. Wrong! It could have easily pumped enough water even higher because you don't need a wide fountain there but moving current of water even with slightly lower pressure. Too bad you haven't tested it before you have cut so much of your precious tower.

It would be nice to find some organic hydroponic nutrients but it seems to be a bit of a grey area, most people seem to go with organic compost teas. Which nutrients did you use ?

I'm using micro spray nozzles with 4mm tubing so that i can use a weaker pump, but it does mean siting a nozzle for each plant.
@bobbyboucher74264 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see your set up. was it expensive to do the nozzles?
@GaryMcKinnonUFO4 жыл бұрын
@@bobbyboucher7426 I ended up just pumping the water up to the lid, 3d printed a curved lid so the water hits that and rains down on the netpots.
@GaryMcKinnonUFO4 жыл бұрын
It may be safe but i would check the ingredients of the epoxy or cement in case it can get into the water and then into your food.

Nice build! I enjoy watching people's different approaches to the same problem, yours is pretty efficient with the square post. Why does the poor cat have to stay indoors ? And why do all us makers have cats?? Are we witches of some sort :)
