I'm new to the woodturning world. I tend to only watch the legends with a reputation so I don't watch any yahoos and learn bad techniques. Raffan, Mahoney, etc. What would the major things be? I wouldn't use a spindle gouge for one. I'm just in the process of upgrading to a much larger lathe with the intention of turning larger forms. I have some great mentors in the club around me but none of them really turn extra large things.
@benjaminleatham1587Ай бұрын
@ you used a spindle roughing gouge on the outside of a bowl. NO professional that I know does that, because it’s not even close to being safe. Where is your visor? I see you dodging chips, rather than using your head for something other than a hat rack. That’s just two things.
@benjaminleatham1587Ай бұрын
@@TheKingOfTheBrocean extra large turnings are hard to sell. Keep your current lathe, and turn small to medium sized live edge bowls. You can sell those as fast as you can get them done, if they are done well.

Hi! Im interested to get the maestro for making programs for my scm record110 (5axis). I can`t understand which version of maestro i need... The 3d modelling is made on Autodesk Fusion360 and i would like to import the files to maestro (STL STEP IGES DXF...) I have to work on the "normal" F sides like in xilog plus, but also to drill, mill or to do other operations on inclined planes or sawblade cuts. is the normal maestro enough or do i need the 3d version?

Please help-me to automatically create TABS in my parts that are imported from DXF files. I created my Mechanization Layers that can recognize automatically the Depth of the tabs to create them automatically. I do have the Depth parameter in Operations/Attributes/Depth but it is time consuming to insert them manually as it requires to insert two of them for every single tab that it creates. When I do need to mechanize a few different hundred pieces every day this makes the entire process extremely slooooow. I do need to find a way to insert this depth changes from a DXF file. Thank you, hopefully you can help-me with this issue.

@@HiTechEducationOy Have no idea how I can use them. But I don't think will help much with what I do need myself. Did you write the whole code for machining manually (using Maestro Scripting Language explanations) or there is another way?
@HiTechEducationOy5 ай бұрын
Hello, Thanks for the feedback. The code must be written manually, but absolutely everything does not have to be written from scratch. The actual machining commands must be written completely from scratch, but you can get the variables from the first step of the macro. Sure, if you do it in visual studio, then you get predictive text input, but you still have to know what to type.
@jovicakojic24834 ай бұрын
@@HiTechEducationOy Thanks! Also, is there a way to open macro as normal pgmx project so I can edit or check all machinings through Maestro, not only through code?
@HiTechEducationOy4 ай бұрын
@@jovicakojic2483Unfortunately, it is not possible to open it like a normal pgmx program. You can view the macro only as code or ready-made by placing it in the program, but even then you won't see the individual operations. Of course, you can use optimization to break down the macro operations into individual operations and this is how you can see them.

Hello, Is it possible to use variables with text value? For example: variable name would be "door opening" and values would be left and right? Thanks!
@HiTechEducationOy6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. Yes it is possible. You should first create variables for example "left" with value True, then variable "right" with value False After this, you create the variable door_opening( no space, use under line) and set the value to left or right. Then you put this "door_opening" variable in the machining conditions

is it posable to display graphix when running a program?
@HiTechEducationOy6 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I'm not entirely sure how the geometries are displayed when the program is active on the machine. This also depends on the software version, whether you are using an older "Panelmac" or a newer "Maestro active"
@Andre-pe9mm6 ай бұрын
@@HiTechEducationOy it’s 2 years old & uses Maestro active ( basic version) only 3 axes too.
@HiTechEducationOy6 ай бұрын
@@Andre-pe9mm Hi, You can check geometry visibility very easily. Draw, for example, a circle or any other pattern on a piece(program) and set the piece(program) as active on the machine. If the graphics alone without machining are not visible, then they always require some machining to be combined with the geometry.
