I usually take my 2014 road King down to about 50 miles range or so, but often a lot less. A couple times I've brought it down to "low range" (which happens around 10 miles range on my bike). I always zero my trip odometer when that happens, and one time I rode it another 20 miles past "low range". My bike has a 6 gallon tank and on that fill up I stuffed in 5.6 gallons, so even when it was 10 miles past "zero range", I still had some gas in the tank. I don't want to make a habit of that, but it's nice to know there's some "reserve" left after the bike says it's empty.
