How bad was the scrub after the 2020 fires and were the tracks still extant? Thanks!
@sunshinesummits90212 ай бұрын
yep, the track is actually kept really well despite the place being so wild. you can see the trail faintly on the ground the entire way, only the very summit of ironpot it sort of dissapears but your just following the ridgeline to the end so its still straight forward
@joerassaby2812 ай бұрын
@@sunshinesummits9021 thanks! And do you know about the track up Blackhorse Ridge and out to Splendour Rock by any chance?
@sunshinesummits9021Ай бұрын
@@joerassaby281 Thats on my to do list! I really want to summit mount mouin, and from there can camp in the saddle and get to splendour rock

@@sunshinesummits9021 I climbed Mouin many years ago. It can't compete with Mt Dingo for views but no its a great little peak nonetheless!

Not far from Mt Hay is Rigby Hill. It's a pretty easy, near level, walk through longish grass (so not for summer). One short section needs a bit of skill and calm nerves.

Did this walk a number of years ago... Giant Stairway, then Kedumba Ck (which I fell in...umm...twice!!) then up Mt Solitary. That climb was a bit of a killer but absolutely worth it. Then camped on Mt Solitary...coldest night of the year... brilliant. I passed no one...whole walk to myself. But I cheated, returning via Scenic Railway... I was too buggered to take the track. But I'm a bit of an old fella.
