This one is a LOT more silent. I was skeptical about the claims and it didn't seem like it at first, but it is pretty accurate. This is really so much more quiet!

Do you know which generation yours is? I know that 6 and 7 bases are compatible but before that I am not sure. The website has information about which models were made in which year I think! Sorry I could not be of more help but I hope what I shared will take you in the right direction!

Thank you! I started with having the little one acclimate to the house for about two weeks without meeting the resident cat. We spent that time bonding, playing, and doing training and tricks with treats so that we had a trusting relationship. She learned all of my praise words and signals and I learned the strengths in her abilities, attitude and personality. She was then able to roam the house freely for periods of time while the resident cat would nap in another room. I wanted her to be confident in the environment, which helps prevent bullying. The introduction process after that was pretty standard. They would meet behind a barrier and get treats in each other's presence to establish positive association until they were ready to go with no barrier. When we got to the stage where they would meet and then the barrier was removed, we did some activities together to get them to work together as a team. (Opening boxes for them to inspect and approve.) From there it was a lot of repetition of praise and treating them in different places in the house. (On their cat beds together, on the human's bed, etc.) The follow up and repetition for them to bond and have activities together instead of just tolerating each other is really important. The work isn't done after they are "getting along!"

Better engineering has since evolved and this type is no longer available, but there are two major brands that sell quality cat exercise wheels right now: One is G5 Ferris Cat Wheel and the other is made by OneFastCat.
