We don’t need to be fixed. Would you “fix” a gay person to make them straight? After all, it would “make their life easier”. It’s a straight/cis world, just like it’s a hearing world. Would you “fix” a brown eyed person, by surgically turning their eye’s blue? Make them fit in? Hearing people are not the default. But you guys make your money this way, right? By “correcting” us? We have our lives, our culture and our pride as human beings. You people will spew whatever misinformation you need to, to suck money out of wallets; by trying to make Deaf people feel lesser than. By making them feel bad about who they are. CI’s are eugenics, and you people are evil.

I don't understand when people, who have never heard human voices B4, seem to understand what you're saying to them when you speak words. They know the spelling of words, but not pronunciation 😊

How could she speak so clearly, hear and understand?
@Humanbeing01Ай бұрын
How she understood sound? Words? It seems hearing experience is not that difficult??? I seen one video where Suddenly Getting able to see and understand was very complicated and difficult for that person. Even simple task like using ladder was very difficult because Understanding length and depth is very difficult. They never learn that.

Thank you for contacting us! Every individual's results are different and there are factors that can effect their ability to hear and comprehend sounds and words after receiving a cochlear implant. Some of these factors include age, daily rehabilitation and practice and how long that individual has lived with hearing loss. We hope this helps!

I’ve got a question. I just got my Apple Watch earlier this week and have been using it quite a bit, but it’s not letting me use my TV streamer for my processor when I watch TV. When I open the app, the options to connect to (tv streamer, mini mic, and telecoil) are greyed out. I can’t seem to be able to do anything. Has anyone had this issue before? If so, how did you fix it?
@CochlearAmericasАй бұрын
Hello Cole, thank you for your comment! I understand that you are using the Nucleus app on your iPhone and Apple Watch, we are happy to help you troubleshoot this. Please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-483-3123, you can send an email to [email protected], or Live Chat on our online store, 8am to 5pm MT. If contacting us by phone, we are available Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm MT.

Do they lose their deaf voice immediately after having these implants turned on? I've watched tons of these, but I have yet to see one person still speak with a deaf tone afterwards. If so, that's amazing. A good friend of mine who has been deaf since birth is afraid to get these because he said he's heard "horror stories". All I see are positive interactions. Are there negatives to this if you are approved for it?

Thank you so very much for contacting us after watching this video! Cochlear implant surgery can involve some level of risk similar to any other surgical procedure. If you are interested in more detailed information, please seek advice from your health professional, outcomes may vary.

Ditto. The thing is that after years of diminished hearing, the coping mechanisms will not instantly disappear with a nice new set of hearing aids. In fact, for us, the replying as if to a different conversation, and the feeling of being ignored continued and sometimes I think it is even worse. It is a lonely, sad life for two people who love and respect each other and have depended on each other for emotional support but cannot really truly communicate thanks to the hearing issue.
