Its so important that therapy might push back on dropping empathy levels and the ability to attune to each other at individual level as Mick says but also what might it offer at a political level too. I'm concerned at how little attunement seems on offer in political spaces.

Poverty has been proven as number one cause of depression. My sincere appreciation to Mental Health Research through Group SEEK Psychotherapy which has come up with imterventions to eradicate poverty.

However, it depends on the subject in the 80’s? Especially when it involved your parents.

How exciting to see that this topic is being looked at from such a comprehensible point of view. It is refreshing to see not only the harm but also how it can be useful. I believe that this is just the beginning of what can be a very exciting and productive area of study. I look forward to see how this will be implemented, excellent video!

Suicide ??? How would you feel if everyone thought you were crazy or stupid , but you KNEW you were smarter then most people you meet . Relationships ?? Difficult when you really cannot talk to them about reality and have to treat everyone like babies or they will break . Try to attack you , abandon you , you end up alone and shunned by society .. Hmmm I wonder why they are suicidal … this is starting to piss me off . I get y’all are trying to help but no one understands mental illness or more importantly the brain . Pretending to be an expert when you have not experienced the worst of it …. nope 👎

I plan on proving the link to high intelligence from mental illness. If you have NOT experienced it , it is like a quarterback trying to explain the basics of quantum physics….

I watched a mental health and true crime video on KZbin last night, a TV nanny personality (Jo Frost?) looked at the case of a child who had killed his mother. There is still so much out there that we haven't gotten sufficient grip of in life isn't there - how to spot children at risks of going their own way like that before their disturbance leads to acting out those kinds of immature fantasies. We definitely need more MH study and understanding than we accept in our collective understanding of how the world we have created works on human beings, and other living things. I listen to Life Changing on Radio 4, it is worth a listen too.

Fr, before it happened I actually started getting better control of my emotions, then a few years after the abuse stopped my emotions were out of control and I started remembering everything and all this other stuff, just to find out I have PTSD from It, which I found out a few years ago, I guess it depends because divorce itself isn’t trauma but some things related to divorce like abuse, is trauma

Phyllis Chesler wrote about this in the 60's of the former century. But more in the sense that women behaviour is found problematic sooner and they were locked up. Then there is Elaine Showalter also writing on this subject from a historical perspective, I think that was written in the 70's. In the 80's it was about women's health in general bc science denied, and often still does, we have different bodies. We do not come from Adam's rib, if we have a heart condition the symptoms are different e.g. apart from the reproduction organs, hormones etc. Medicines are mostly tested on men, bc of the cycle, so doctors do nit really know what is the effect for women. Etc etc etc. It is starting slowly to change.

He is responsible for one of the biggest medical frauds in history :- The Pace Trial. The protocol was lowered during the trial so that anyone sick enough to enter the trial automatically became deemed to have recovered from ME due to the CBT / GET 'therapy', ie: the threshold for recovery was lowered during the trial to be lower than that necessary for admission ! The raw data was buried for over a decade, and so a generation of medics were duped into believing that ME could be cured by psych' therapy. ultimately, using freedom of information, the raw data was exposed, after wessely and his fellow shrinks lost a £250k fight with the information commissonare. PACE was exposed as a fraud, and in 2021 NICE altered their treatment recommendations. but wessely has forced all the royal colleges to ignore the NICE update, so ME patients are still being abused by UK medics. So all in all, he is a corrupt and dishonorable man who has caused intense suffering to ME patients, and hence should be stripped of his kbe and forced to retire from public life ! NB: REGARDING GULF WAR SYDROME, IT HAS BEEN PROVED BEYOND DOUBT THAT ITS DOWN TO LOW LEVEL EXPOSURE TO NERVE AGENTS RELEASED BY THE ALLIES DESTROYING IRAQ'S CHEMICAL WEAPONS ! WESSELY LIES ABOUT THIS IN THE ABOVE CLIP ! ****************************************** HE REALLY IS A DISPICABLE CON MAN ! ******************************************

It is very interesting how Simon mainly focuses on his career path, positions, fellowships, titles, prestige and so on and so forth. Most scientists I know talk about the things they were fascinated by, what they wanted to know about the world. It is really sad that people like him can get in these positions and influence the world.

Some rewriting of history going on in this interview. All the soldiers suffering from Gulf War Illness hate Simon Wesley. I'm not sure who hates him more, MECFS patients or the Golf War Illness patients. There needs to be investigations into everything this monster has done. Recent news stories by Hannah Sharland from the Canary and George Monbiot from the Guardian do a great job explaining the damage this lunatic has caused.

Like many others my mental health took a complete nosedive over lockdown. Also being an active alcoholic and loosing both my granny and father has been incredibly difficult. I was also admitted to hospital on 10/12/2022 suffering alcohol related seizures and cardiac arrests. Since then I've been trying to stay sober and truly become a recovering/recovered alcoholic.
