My ball python is visibly getting larger, so I would feed her and wait until about the 4th night after and feed again, then wait about 8days and repeat the process. Just for the smaller ones though, I bought a 6 pack of bigger sized mice and will go back to about every 10 days with those. Any tips or thoughts comment section ?

My snake wasn’t shedding properly my vet thought it was because of a bacteria (now thinking about it humidity probably was too low) he was giving an oral antibiotic but he started getting red on his sides. The vet then switched to injecting an antibiotic but after two injections he got fluid between his muscle and scales eventually the fluid went away and was more like an air pocket he’s had 2 shed since then and his skin is no longer red or fluid/air filled now there’s some under developed/missing scales I’m not sure if they’ll grow back but I hope so. I’m not sure if it’s because the antibiotics just weren’t for my snake or if they aren’t meant for snakes at all

so if i put him into a clean enclosure and he starts shedding but cant get it off because its not humid enough, what should i do?

my snake has a tiny brown spot that is getting bigger. humidity has always been spot on with every now and then it sinking slightly below or above the maximum for a very short time and there isn't anything it can hurt itself on. i've removed all decorations and refreshed the substrate. i'm also applying disinfectant form my local pharmacy that is water based daily. after about two weeks now the spot is still there and in my opinion getting bigger. it is just discoloration, there is no blistering or wound of any kind. why isn't it going away?

These banded frogs are not dangerous. When scare, they inflated their body to double in size with their head hunch down. Will deflated when danger gone. If handle roughly when inflated, it will emit loud squeaky toy sound, and if that doesnt deter potential predator, it will secrete a slimy substance that very slippery to grab, bite, or to pickup!

My snake is a normal boy and I think he's stunning. I got him from Petsmart a while back, which was EXTREMELY naive of me. The good news is that he's thriving now, and having him in my life has been quite the journey. I want to get a friend for him (possibly another wild type) from a good breeder or rescue sometime in the future. Glad you're putting this underrated morph into the limelight.

I got my snake 2 days ago and I’m really sad because I think he got scale rot from the shop I got him from. I knew nothing about how their habitats should be, so I didn’t think anything of it at the time. All of the snakes there are just on wet paper towels.

I didn’t either until I was house sitting for a relative and I was sweeping under their furniture and out ran a scorpion. It was small in size and light tan in color. I haven’t been back to their house.

If my frog didn’t have a parasite and I gave him this treatment would he die of it?

Try a fast growing live floating plant called Water Spangles. It worked for Spadefoot Toads. It seems like the perfect plant. It is dense with high surface area and floats and dense short roots.

cedar is also toxic to mice iirc, not just snakes. all rodents have a very delicate respiratory system, i used to keep rats as pets and theyre very delicate so not only do you have to make sure you're keeping ammonia down, make sure you avoid aromatic woods. i dont think pine is recommended unless its kiln dried, but its a thousand times better than cedar. just as an example of how potent cedar oil is, i had a cedar chest as a kid and when i had a stuffy nose i used to just stick my head in that chest and it would clear my sinuses right out 😂 now imagine youre a tiny delicate mouse!

I saw blisters were briefly mentioned.... is the treatment the same for blisters as it is scale rot? My snake has some on her sides and not the belly. Small, filled with fluid. Should I apply ointment to the blisters after a soak? There's no signs of scale rot so I dunno what to do.
