Here I thought this must be on the southern end, but sure enough it's lechmere. Guess 15 years is too long for my memory,

This was a pretty cool event, although I actually went there in 2023. I also caught the museum’s three 1-50 series cars in action as well.

There’s two sets of houses in addition to the HEP power cables directly underneath the couplers - main reservoir and air brakes for the whole train. Those are automatic split couplers when the first half pulls out the lever where the mechanical person is will be yanked up, therefore releasing the coupler that holds the couplers in place the hoses will automatically disconnect with a sound like a gunshot boom

I’m from NYC and I LOVE the subways - I currently live in Florida and I miss the city trains. If I could get an apartment overlooking this exact spot - I would be the happiest person! 🚇

The reason the GG1 and AEM-7 cannot run is because the overhead wires are the wrong current

The red cables looped into themselves is your 480v Head end power cables and your 2 air hoses are different sizes, the skinnier one is your main reservoir hoses that supply general air to the train and the thicker one is your brake pipe which is the air that controls the brakes on each car. The main reservoir charges your water raising unit that provides water pressure for each car. So once blue flag protection is active the electrician will pull 480v and comm and MU then drop his blue flag protection so they can make the cut. And the air hoses will break apart themselves

The reason why the Metrolink cars came to Chicago is they were on their way to Milwaukee to get overhauled.

Yea great video of the lake shore limited swap back and forth from 48 to 448 to Boston and 449 to 49 on its return to Chicago I see the regular 2 engines that brought 48 to this station still counted on with the same train as the front of the train turned to become 448 But then as the train came back as 449 they didn’t want the same 3 engines to connect the train to make the long train as 49 to continue on to Chicago because they were late and needed an engine inspection and a repair from what happened to the scent 2 engines in 88 consist. 106 duse look the wariest to be part of the late problem because it looks the dirtiest
