Nice video :) But why doesn't Superior Gear have a 12 foot hammock? I am 74 inch long. That could cause problems, right?
@BackpackingwithBuckley3 күн бұрын
You would have to fact check me, but I think the 11 foot hammock would accommodate your height. The owner of the company is 6 feet tall and he actually uses a 10 foot hammock.

Big Bend National Park looks absolutely magical! The unique beauty of the Chisos Mountains combined with backcountry camping must make for an unforgettable overnight experience. The rugged landscapes and dazzling views are second to none. Can’t wait to see more adventures in this amazing location! 😍✨

Wow, Texas is beautiful! Who knew?😂. Not us, at least not that there was such a gorgeous national park. Added to the travel wishlist for sure👍. Ouch! We actually clutched our own ankle when Tara fell 😮🙈. Very lucky escape. Loving the hot springs! Epic fail not bringing cash for tacos, you know you have made it when you are sitting in a hot spring eating Mexican tacos 🤩🙌. Great video tim, looking forward to more texan adventures👍 Have a great week, Shell and Pete

The rice pudding can be heated in your pot if you just drop the closed container in the water as its heating up for say a drink. It won't burn or melt.

That area by Lake Solitude is closed to overnight camping.
@BackpackingwithBuckley10 күн бұрын
I didn't see anything saying that. We found what was obviously a campsite there and found it fairly ethical to assume it was OK as we didn't see anything posted stating otherwise. Thanks for the heads up though for next time!
@panatela0017 күн бұрын
@@BackpackingwithBuckley For sure. Its an epic spot. Maps designate that whole flat area on the east end of the lake as a no camping area, I assume to protect it, because it would become dotted with campsites. The wilderness regulations also prohibit camping within 100' of lakes and streams.

Beautiful area! I need to get out that way. I do that same thing with my ankles every trip. I don’t know how I haven’t broken them many times. The body is a resilient thing. But I’m sure at some point and being my elderly age I’ll fall and break my hip.

West Texas backpacker here - go spend a night at East Rim 7 and don’t miss a chance to paddle Santa Elena Canyon if the Rio Grande ever comes back up! Don’t sleep on Big Bend Ranch (state park) either if you get a chance to get over there.
@BackpackingwithBuckley11 күн бұрын
Nice man. I want to explore the State Park too. Sounds like there are springs there. Stay in touch, bud. Maybe we can meet up sometime this winter!
@joshgraves830211 күн бұрын
There is quite a bit more water in the state park and the rangers don’t hesitate to let you know about the latest water reports unlike in the NP where they always say everything is dry. Some neat and less popular state park hikes are Tapado Canyon and Madrid Falls. I’ll be around Dec 10-14th. My wife and I will be doing the Outer Mountain Loop a few of those days and then camping in RGV a couple nights. Hope you enjoy your time in Texas!

it is a gateway if you let it be but also it has infinite potential I've seen a lot of people quit heroin meth pills drinking so on as well as eventually quitting weed it's self so a lot of people who use weed as a gateway are more just disrespecting the holy herb and leads them to damnation aka gateways to bad things
@BackpackingwithBuckley11 күн бұрын
I think alcohol is the biggest gateway personally. I never smoked a bowl and then decided to move on to some cocaine. But booze on the other hand......
