Have your air filter directly over your header , sucking in all of that hot air so how can they call it Cold air induction there’s nothing better than the stock system pulls the air from the front of the car and pushes it right into the engine, if anything maybe an upgraded factory air filter like k&N would be nice

@@jojojeep1 I had a k&n in my factory system, but if you did go with an rbc you would know the factory air box will no longer reach the old throttle body position. I’m well aware on how an intake system works, I did not want to spend near $500 on a cold air intake that reaches a better air flow angle but for $150 I’m not complaining on losing under 5hp. I plan on replacing the hot ram intake by next winter.

@@oxyeekithebeatgod2501 I only have a personal IG. I currently bought a bull boost manifold for 9th gen that was under $100 due to manufacture defect, and would have to get re-welded. I’m going to also run a rev9 rsx intercooler kit for under 400$ and I’m also going to run a rev9 turbo 6062 for under $300, I will run bull boost wastegate and blow off valve, I’m going to feed the turbo via the oil pressure sensor with an adapter piece & I will drain the oil with a drain plug / an10 fitting drain plug, I don’t plan on drilling a whole on the oil pan and want to do the least amount possible, I was going to do it via the timing chain tensioner cover but heard in one video were guy said he’s had problems that route via 9th gens. With all that I plan on only pushing around 9lbs of boost through the car and hoping for 400w were others only reached 360w on stock setups.

I think maybe up to $1700 for the whole turbo kit routed and hooked up but it’s not including the exhaust side with the waste gate dump tube I’m still working on that part.

@@drakegehringer6434 yes it’s worth it, especially since the price dropped on them I believe they are in the $900s. Mine are drop in cams with factory valve train. If you change out springs and retainers I’d recommend the “stage 2” cams

How’s the MPG with Skunk2 Cams? I dropped some 06-08 TSX cams into my K24Z3 and noticed I lost around 10mpg cause the exhaust rides on the big lob. Good power increase but not good for daily

@ it’s got the rsx type s oil pump. Odd as it sounds but I’m pushing limiter as much as I can to stress the engine to see if it’s capable of handling. So far so good. These k24 boosted can handle up to 450-500whp. And I got drop in cams as well

@@jordansecco7916 yes, I have a video were I explain all I have done to the engine, Ive put in about 6k just into the engine itself. I do plan on boosting in the near future. Everything on my car is budget parts. And I do plan on boosting with only 2k, I don’t plan on getting the 4-5k kits. I have to get the car retuned at the moment it should be in the realm of 240+whp, I also plan on getting it to a dyno just to verify all I’ve done to it.

@@RADukura thanks, I see a lot of people buying these 9th gens and only do simple bolt ons or even just leave it stock and lower it on coil overs or bags & add wheels/tires and camber it and end up selling it cause it’s not fast because they only make 179-220whp and get beat by the competition of GTI’s / WRX/STI / BRZ/86 / ST’s. I’ve always Wanted a 9th gen and plan on boosting it in the future. But I wanted to show what these motors can pull stock with FBO’s I want to squeeze close to 250whp, it’s never been done on these with the stock head, people swap the 8th gen k20 head to achieve over 260whp. But we will see how it goes.

@@bvvbvv6010 lol quite literally, I wish these things with a downpipe and tune I’m pushing 400hp already. In talking wheel HP it goes from 179->240+ so it’s more like a 61+whp increase. Since its 205hp it went up to about 260hp/240whp instead of 205hp/179whp.

@@tommythao3799 theoretically no, the cam is kinda loud in non-vtec that once it crosses over to vtec u can barely hear the difference but it is there. All the cam does though is adds more top end hp and increases rpm’s. Car idles a lot louder then before too, not obnoxiously loud but it does sound nice.

@@tommythao3799 no it shouldn’t at all, a lot of car manufactures run vtec but call them different names, cams enhance vtec, there is a cam called “vtec killer” in B series engines were I believe keeps the car fully in vtec. It’s just a component that increases RPM giving it more top end power when needed, my gears almost feel a tad bit longer because the gauge keeps climbing.

Got my skunk drop in cams on Black Friday for 40% off ;) really wakes the car up, along with the ultra street manifold at top end. I also got a p0341 for stretched chain, was a pain lol but got it fixed up. In the 230’s for whp and 180’s for torque on e50ish, but I have the same flex fuel kit lol (the day of the tune I only reached e55ish)

Highly recommend finding an acuity cai, those short rams heat soak insanely fast, and are possibly losing you power compared to a stock intake.

@@Candybuiltsi yes you are right, I asked my buddy’s the same thing of either boost or fbo and after getting feedback I decided to go fbo. I knew the price would end up being the same. But I really wanted to see what these engines can do with fbo since nobody does all these mods because they call an exhaust/rbc/cai “fbo” on these. And I also thought once the car is fbo and enjoy it for a while I plan on boosting in the future and with the mods already installed I will have no problem being in the 450-500whp range low boost. & in the end the clutch will still have to get replaced to compensate for the boost being added. So now I won’t have to do that anymore. I will know once I add boost that the motor will run at its fullest potential with and without boost. So going fbo or fi will run you the same price on these k24z7’s yes, I found it cheaper/easier going fbo because you are buying the parts separately and not dropping $4.8k all at ounce. I’m still deciding on a kraftwerks sc or Dc5Creations turbo kit. One will lose me my rbc and the other my plm downpipe.

I would reccomend port matching the im runners to the head. It made a night and day difference on my k24z3. Stock ports it made 225whp on 91, after port and retune I have no idea on power (street tuned) but it's def more than 225 lol. I wont be surprised if you make 240+ with e85. On your setup. 👍

@@robertgardner4508 when I was in the market for some cams, I was also looking for information on these, and I literally could not find anything. but I got these since they are the cheaper cams to buy for this car. & when you get the cams, there’s no information on the valve clearance. I emailed the company and they said you have to valve lash them at OEM spec.

Worst place- it’s the only way it can be routed due to the MAF connector & the piping. Honestly a Hot ram Intake. First place- I wanted a budget intake, most cold air intakes are like $300-500, my short ram was only $150.

@@KennyPhillips-pt3dw 😂 in these engines to covert your oem oil pump to a type s, you have to drop the whole engine, their was no other way of doing it while keeping it in the car. So I went ahead and said might as well do the clutch too and a new rear main seal.

I can’t wait either, but came across an issue with code P0341, it was not the vvt sensor or wiring, we came down to it being a stretched chain so I’m in works on doing that soon & I’m at the point where if ima take off the timing cover again, ima go ahead and also install 4pistons ported TypeS oil pump for a true fbo and get the most power out of the cams. So that will be coming soon, I’ll post a more in depth video once the car runs and drives good. It drives rn and redlines but does not engage vtec.

Port match the rbc intake runners to the head if.you haven't you will pick up more midrange and top end. I have an rsp on a k24z3 and port matched the runners along with the tb, night and day difference from just porting the tb side and slapping it on. Cant wait to see how this setup does.

Old vid but thanks for uploading it, the 2017 has the dual into a single tailpipe correct? Reason i ask is that I'm planning on doing the exact same thing to my 18 xd gas just removing the stock dual in single out muffler leaving the resonator on the tail pipe arch and sending it. Hopefully it sounds similar to yours.
