Hello, thank you for your video. I will be in Tromso next December. Do you have an agency to recommend to me for booking my excursions? Thanks
@a_weekend_with_us2 күн бұрын
Hi, I booked my Aurora Safari through Best Arctic (bestarctic.com) and my boat trip through Visit Tromsø (visittromso.no) and I would recommend them both - no hassle, good communication etc. Visit Tromsø also has lots of information about activities and trips. For the museums and cable car, I just bought tickets on arrival (you can buy them through Visit Tromsø as well but I don't think there would be any advantage in doing so). Have a great trip!

Probably its ball bearing is failing. I'd buy a spare just eventually so that I don't end up without heating and hot water in the middle of nowhere :)

hi. is there daylight in tromso around 13-15 january?also is it a good time for whale watching. i am thinking of visiting next jaunary
@a_weekend_with_us20 күн бұрын
There's a short period of daylight, probably 10am-3pm or thereabouts. I don't know about whale watching but I'd suggest you look at websites like Visit Tromsø as they have lots of whale watching information. Have a good trip if you go 👍

Beautiful peaceful place spring summer or fall. Cold and 🌨️❄️. Been there and done that. As long as the place is safe and far far far away from 🤯. If I can afford it comfortably 💵💰💵. It's home

We stayed on this wonderful site for two nights 4 or 5 years ago in a Force 8 or 9 Gale. It seems a lot bigger now. On the 2nd night the Gale turned from a South Westerly to a North Westerly and we managed to turn our van thru 90 degrees to keep it's nose into the wind. It turned colder but at least the horizontal rain stopped! The noise of the rigging didn't bother us, in fact it added to the atmosphere 👍👍
@a_weekend_with_usАй бұрын
Yes, they've added more pitches in the last few years I believe. Sounds like a memorable stay! It's funny, the rigging noise is the sort of thing that would usually bother me but it doesn't seem to and I would agree it adds to the atmosphere, gives you a sense of where you are!

Wow brilliant video, many thanks, stunning, I Started 15 years ago visiting Tromso and I think I only missed 4 trips, I have also just bought an Inst 360 x4 camera and will be using it this December, although it has not got a good rating for low light photography, living in Cambridge I use Luton airport with WIZZ Air which are really cheap flights, also at the airport I don't use the local buses, I use Bussring which parks right outside the front door of the terminal, and it's a dedicated coach bus into town which is only 10 minutes, the first stop is at the Scandic Grand hotel next to the Thon hotel.

Thanks for sharing especially for the information that we can see aurora from the Fjellheisen if the sky is clear.
@a_weekend_with_usАй бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I was surprised how well I could see the aurora from up there. People also say Kongeparken in the city centre is a good spot, or Telegrafbukta (although I didn't try either of those as I had the ticket for the cable car). 👍
@yusufyuda1573Ай бұрын
@@a_weekend_with_us Thanks for the inspiration. I have little kids so I have to find a dark place in the city center or somewhere near Cafe/restaurant like Fjellheisen rather than join Aurora tour.

Hi, when did you visit Tromso in January? Next year we will also visit Tromso and I am just wondering how dark it will be from 1st until 12th of January... thanks :) Subscribed! :)
@a_weekend_with_us2 ай бұрын
Hi, I arrived on 22 Jan and left on 26 Jan. The "Polar night" had officially ended the week before and I had daylight from maybe around 9.30am until 3ish probably, although didn't see the sun itself. It'll be darker for you but I reckon it will still lighten up for a bit during the day. There's a livestream on KZbin - @VervetTroms Utsikt Sør - that gives you a good idea of the daylight. It's crazy how light it is now compared to just a few months ago. Hope you have an amazing time 🙂

OMG my Caravan is famous is seen on the video lol. I am very new to caravanning and this is our first site we ever stayed at. We have a seasonal pitch here and it has now become our haven and happy place. This is our 3rd Season here. Great spot to be able explore the area, in which we have done. The site wardens are amazing and very helpful. Would defiantly recommend this site

Hey, thank you for the vlog. I am visiting next january, and super excited. Did you use card payment for everything, i heard that cash isnt used much or at all? Am thinking of getting a travel/currency card for my trip.
@a_weekend_with_us2 ай бұрын
Thank you. Have a great time! I took cash but found that a lot of places didn't take it, so you would definitely be OK without it. Even the places that did take it would automatically fire up their card machine and I'd have to ask to pay cash! If you want to use public transport, you can buy tickets on the app (single tickets or multi-day ones like I had) - very easy and the buses were reliable.
@louisesusanАй бұрын
@@a_weekend_with_us thats great thank you so much. Am thinking i will need the bus to get to the gondala, so will look into that app.

Thank you for the video. Could you kindly put chapters on your videos? Subscribed. 👍
@a_weekend_with_us3 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks! There should be chapters on most of the videos (apart from the campsite videos as they are usually pretty short) but I'll check in case they are missing/not working, is there a particular one you have in mind? Thanks 👍
@travellingtom60913 ай бұрын
@@a_weekend_with_us Well I am a fellow motorhomer, but at the moment I'm researching Tromsø and have watched a lot of videos about the city. So I am generally looking for new things to add to the list. Watching each and every video without checking the chapters first is not realistic. Happy travels! 👍

I really like your videos from my hometown. You deserve to have a lot more views. When you said that you like snow, I said to myself: She's at the right place! On 29 April 1997 we had 240 cm of snow at our weather station on the Tromsø island.

This video is really helpful. We had the codes this morning. I took the fan cover off, it was full of thick dust. Cleaned it off & the boiler is working (for now!) the errors have cleared. Did you end up needing any new parts ?

Thanks! I sort of know I can do it but tend to overthink it and then I start doubting myself... I think if you buy a van, you won't regret it but there's no harm in being prepared for various situations. I think most people feel nervous about stuff, they may just be better at hiding it. Good luck!

Let's hope they learnt last time and don't do the same this time. You buy parts go out then have to join the queue at the back, are you sure! Then the hall gets to the point they can't accept entry and you have to wait due to fire health and safety. Larger location I hop this year at the BCM.
