Please stop perpetuating the scy fi channels CGI concept of the Lusca. That ridiculous creation was the result of the moronic movie “Sharktopus” that was aired back in the early 2000’s. The Lusca is a giant octopus that may live in the Caribbean...an ocean that is not known for very large octopi...that in itself should make it fairly sensational. To keep tryi.ng to create a hybrid of two completely different animals out of it is asinine and moronically pathetic. It also marginalizes it’s possible existence into the world of fantasy. So just stop it. Take off that stupid hat and stop misinforming the public with your idiotic television based misconceptions.

Question...why not use an egg weight to get the bait where you want it? I catfish on the ms river and just learned about the copper wire and would like info on difference between using a weight vs copper/ lead line. Thanks for the video

I am reading a book by Ryan Lockwood called What Lurks Beneath and also read Below. It is about these Giant Octopuses and the story of the legend in What Lurks Beneath. His work is fiction, but has stayed true to the Lusca and all that involves. His books are about Octopuses. Great reads! I looked this up on Google to see if it is true and it is!! I did some research and apparently they are becoming quite brazen and have actually come up to boats, snatching people off of them and sinking the boats. Also, coming up near the beaches and grabbing a hold of people's legs and pulling them under and biting them! Wow! Wish I was brave enough to dive in blue holes, so much history.

So you supposedly caught the fish on a 300 copper with a Coldwater levelwind.... and swapped it over and reeled it in with a convector with a linecounter.....now that's tricky fishing right there!! ;)

Also many have seen large tentacles when swimming, one guy claimed to have had his camera snatched by a huge octopus, which would be typical for a giant pacific. Others have claimed to see an entire octopus swimming, an octopus can look like it has a sharks head when in a horizontal position. I'm guessing its a simply a bigger version of the Giant Pacific Octopus

Sure could be, the Bahamians usually see them from shore out surfacing in a blue hole. Not the best visualization.

A tiger shark isn't half tiger. A lusca isnt half shark. It is most certainly an octopus, albeit a very large, particularly predatory one. The Down surge explains a lot in terms of boat wrecks.... but the accounts of swimmers in inland blue holes near the surface being snatched, along with divers disappearing...although the caves often choke down to a size smaller than football size... hmm. A lot of very odd occurrences in these holes. I also pay some creed to most natives around many blue holes considering them bad mojo. An octopus can fit into amazingly small places and are masters of camouflage and ambush predation. Blue Holes are prime habitat. It would not surprise me if a lusca was a rather large specie of octopus due in large part to having no natural predators and no real competition. I enjoyed your video.
@dr.juiceusa8669
@dr.juiceusa8669 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment and observations. I agree, could be a large octopus. Over 100's of years the locals have a problem with blue holes and many legends regarding the lusca. One is the mermaid on the edge of the blue hole playing her flute to bring the unwary closer. I still think my theory of the down surge and maelstrom sucking canoes or swimmers deserves some research.
