Stihl calls the nylon, winter filters. Flocked everything else. My 361 came with a winter filter. My 562 has the flocked. With the 5 series it shouldn't matter if you run the flocked year round. It's constantly adjusting. Now my old 90s Stihl . It was notorious for building up wet saw dust. Both my new saws the air flows different and the build ups really not a issue

Supposedly, the 545's are built with more torque in mind, whereas the 550 is geared more towards higher rpm. It sure looked like the 550 out torqued the 545 to me.

I use belray H1r motorcycle oil. I've never seen crank bearings coated so well and it smells good too! I don't know if you follow Richard Flagg or not on utube but he's a master saw mechanic and has dine extensive oil testing where he tears saw down after every test to check piston for coaking and how well the bearings are coated and motorcycle oil wins hands down! Burns clean and coats the best! Idling is mostly what causes coaking bad. Made a beliver out of me! Amsoil is also great oil but nothing smells better than motorcycle oil!

It's plain stupid that Husqvarna doesn't specify any of this in their operator manuals. The yellow/orange are widely available and they come on most saws. The flocked filters are less available except online or from dealers. It stinks something so important isn't explained by the manufacturer in their consumer literature so we have correct information.

How often are you having to ckean the filter and reapplying oil? Ya just wash them with soap and water?

@shaun4bigblocks99329 күн бұрын
If is not a 346XP OE and it is not a 346XP NE- it is a 545 Mark II COMPLETELY different saw. Any 346XP variant is worth a hundred bucks on market place all day- but that 545 MII has a computer controlled carb that requires computer diagnostics and dealers know that and take great advantage of customers pocket books for that reason hence why they tend to pop up so cheap. You know, you already have a comment trying to straiten your backwards brain out, but as of 07/2024 you still have an incorrect and misleading title. I don't know what it is, but it seems to always be you guys who talk like you were educated in an 1860s school house led by a teacher born in 1770 that can't seem to avoid being backwards. As my drill Sergeant used to say "un fudge yourself," or at least something along those lines... Or as I say "it takes people like you combined with "daily effort" to break the sterio type...
