Glad you liked it. I find it very peaceful to sit in the warm sunroom and look out at the wild birds feeding. I find it amazing they are able to do so well during Winter. Currently we have been down in the 20's - sometimes even during the daylight hours. Very cold Winter here.

Thought I’d see a video on how to grow tomatoes indoors ( start to finish ) not how to tie up established tomato plants, what a waste of my time.
@TNMountainGardenАй бұрын
It would take a much longer video to start from seed to harvesting and eventually taking the plant out of the pot. There are several videos on the channel showing the different stages. Have a great blessed day!

As a result of your comment, I put together a playlist that shows all the details from how to sprout the tomato seeds. I believe there would be updates on the cherry tomatoes in other videos, but I feel the videos in the playlist are the most important. THANK YOU for your comment. It actually triggered me to do something that might help others. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3ObdGCkhcmobbs

Can you tell me why you would use vinegar in the recipe? What does it do? Thanks!!
@TNMountainGarden4 ай бұрын
This recipe has been handed down over several generations. I am not sure why the vinegar is added. However, I can tell you the taste is amazing when you finish a batch of pear butter using all the ingredients in the recipe. Perhaps it helps the pear butter thicken better. Again, I am just not sure.

I will be 70 years old this Fall and my energy levels are definitely lower than when I was in my 40's and 50's. I just wanted to concentrate on getting my garden at my new homestead property in place. Still loving life in the garden, but I can only work a few hours at time. I really need to do a garden tour so you can see exactly what is going on here at homestead.

All I can say is that sometimes the color varies based on the amount of sunlight on tomatoes. I don't ever remember seeing a Cherokee Purple tomato with purple coloring.

Always grow tomatoes upside down, the lack of cage and reduced blight make for easy growing. Also grab an electric toothbrush and hand pollinate with it, promise you triple your yield.

Yes agreed I never seen and hang out this long either. I see 57 next week so it'll feel like spring again. And then I would imagine this ain't gonna happen again this year. How do you dry the apples?
@TNMountainGarden Жыл бұрын
We peel the apples and slice them. Do not slice them too thin or they will stick to the trays in the dehydrator. We place the apples slices so that they do not overlap on the trays. We dehydrate them for at least 24 hrs at a temp of about 125 degrees F. If the slices seem to have too much moisture in them after the 24 hours, we simple put more time on the dehydrator and continue drying them. Once they are dried, they can be stored in sealed jars; however, our preferred way is to put them in plastic or glass containers and store them in our freezer until we are ready to use them. Once they are dried and stored in an air tight container, the apples can easily be stored for a couple of years.

Where did you get the fiberglass hoop material
@TNMountainGarden Жыл бұрын
I first saw the fiberglass hoops used by Bri on @Brifromscratch. On her video she stated where she bought the hoops. I have tried to find the video again, but KZbin does not put things in chronological order and I was not able to find them. I do remember I Googled the company and ended up ordered a large order from them. They should last for many years.

I am 69 years old and for the life of me I don't remember. I bought 200 of the hoops and knew they should last me for the rest of my life. Go back to Bri From Scratch's channel and watch her videos from early this Spring. Bri gives the company's name and where the company is located, It is such a dang shame that our memory gets worse the older we get! I will go to Bri's channel and send her message. I know she has an instagram account as well. Hopefully she will reply and give me the company's name and location.
