You spent 30 minutes checking and cleaning a 1 hr pan gasket job it was probably a seepage that accumulated overtime and wouldn't have been a bad idea to replace... This is how indi shops get ur business and then swindle u later with cheap parts, improper repairs, lack of proper maintenance...that will make u go back to dealership and we have to fix ur turd. GTFO.. Mechanics at dealerships are specialists on their vehicles. I'm not saying indi mechanics are bad. Trust who u want. U bring me ur neglected turd, dont expect any favors...

This is why I went and started my own business cuz of their dishonesty and as a man of God I couldn’t continue with their shenanigans. Wish there’s more good techs to come to surface but as scriptures says the love of many will grow cold and it’s showing itself, clearly.

That’s exactly why I started my automotive repair shop as well , big name oil change places and dealerships were constantly getting over on people ,, the service writer and the tech are 2 different people , tech job to fix what the service writer can sell so they say anything to increase there chance for a bonus etc ,, there’s still a good handful but half the time they don’t say anything bc they don’t wanna lose their job , I have walked back multiple parts to the front desk and I would state in front the customer, that it didn’t need that part , the way they let me go was thru a vote that I had no vote in ,

Also there’s another thing I tell my customers and it’s true normally you will get a stain of the premature wear basically a lil seepage creating that stain but honestly I let them know it’s up to them and if we’re me I tell them it’s ok just keep an eye on it and once it starts leaking then we can move forward but again that’s up to customers if they wanna go forth with it. Many times I’ve SEENED that and that stain can and I’ve seen be there for year or more before it fails so story short little things like that makes you a honest and all in business technician for years to come but me working or a dealership never again. Once I get to old for wrench turning I’ll just stick with my diagnostics ( Pico scope, Uscoping/ laptop/ scanners/test lights etc) till the day my Lord comes and sends for me.

Buuuut sometimes some vehicles have them plastic dust shields underneath , and if that’s the case , you’ll have a leak and not notice it on ground bc of the dust / splash shield

I can’t agree , if I hire a tech , and he mid diagnosis a vehicle, it falls on me for hiring a person with inadequate skill set , same applies for them , he didn’t just walk in there and become a tech , they hired him ,, no one verified his diagnosis, have you ever worked in a dealership environment? I have , they are notorious for scamming people

As a master tech that sits in the interviews I see more and more people lie on applications. I too have to deal with comebacks from other techs. A lot of the issue is not enough hands-on training. Books are different then performing on a car

It might start leaking out of input or output shaft after fluid gets splashed around the transmission. Aren't there dies you can put into kind of backlight it.

Yes there are , but this specific diagnosis was focused around the bottom of the pan , light or no light,, dry is dry lol , no seepage at axle points or pan while running , and let’s just say that it was leaking out and splashing everywhere while driving,, there would 100% be a trail , If someone is not familiar where to look for leaks on a specific area , then that’s what dye is for ,, I only use dye for ac personally but as I stated , we can’t change physics , up is up and down is down 💯

It’s not a 1 size for all kind world with these cars ,, but the chances are slim , however the harnes is prone to damage over the years and if the harness has exposed wiring touching and making contact with each other , that can definitely cause that symptom

I have an 02 supercharged gtp. I'm not throwing any codes but it's showing with the rpms and the dying randomly so was told my crankshaft and camshaft sensors may be going out. I cant find any video's to change the camshaft senor. Would mine be in the same location?

These are notorious. I am a self taught DIY person when I can be. I did my whole front suspension alone on an 06 300c using the manual and harbor freight. The 2 things I couldn't do were the 2 front ball joints. I brought both knuckles in to different shops. At one, I warned them about reports of projectile ball joints when heated super hot. They ya, ya, ya'd me and as I waited for the knuckle back I heard a bang pop and someone moan. The guy brought me out a knuckle with a half inserted new ball joint a few minutes later. He handed it to me while saying no charge, no charge, my guy had to go to the hospital. We can't do it. The other I brought somewhere else and they got it done but it was harder then they thought. I had to come back hours later to get it. The mechanic who got it out said it was a pain in the ass. This was a guy with a garage set up for doing this. anyway, Just getting their new one in the rest of the way toke me over a day. Now I know better and there are some tricks. Hit the forum over at LX. They will actually tell you the important stuff. Details you need to do this. I also bent 2 ball joint tools trying to work on them. Anyway, this would have been a helpful video if you gave a couple details. Not sure why you didn't.

fyi: crankshaft sensor is different than camshaft sensor.... Made that mistake once already

hey man i got same prob, same car. i have a siezed up lower ball joint and i cant get it out of that fuckin knuckle. I tried everything, fuckin heated the shit out of it, presser wasnt budging it. I drilled out the center with 1/2" bit but before it made it all the way through it fucked up the bit. anyways, the question i have is what type of bits are you using to drill that sucker out?

That was awhile ago lol. I got it out using a sedaline torch, very carefully cut it almost through the side, then it finally came out. Thanks for the reply tho. That was a stressful day lol
