I was actually wondering about LED when I saw a photographer use a flash as a fill in outdoor full sun. Thanks for explaining the differences.

Excellent demonstration & tutorial. Would softer light give more accurate skin tones? As see more mid tones?

Soft light would provide a wider range of all tones, including midtones. As far as more accurate, not necessarily. Since hard light and soft light (and everything in between) both exist naturally, there's no argument that using one is more accurate than the other.

Excellent Video but I appear to be missing something.................... To the right of 'TTL' or 'M' and to the left of the zoom setting there is another 'M'. I note that in your video Robert this changes to 'A' automatically when you move the central dial. I cannot replicate your change and it stubbornly remains on 'M'. What is the purpose of this second 'M' (manual?) and how did you change it to 'A'?

@@thomastank5142 the secondary M/A is for zoom setting, M manually controls the zoom, A automatically adjusts based on your focal length. After hitting zoom you can hit mode to change between auto and manual. Auto is simply the left-most option. So it goes auto > 28 > 35 > 50 > 70 > 80 > 105. Auto may not be available if you’re using a lens that doesn’t communicate its focal length, or if you have it pointed up it won’t change focal length and will instead default to widest setting.

Thanks a lot for this video/advice. Yesterday I got my new a6700 and when using it with the godox trigger XProS and ad200pro I got mad with this. Regardless the shutter speed I could not preview ambient light unless I switched it off. Quite frustrating indeed. So I’ll try this setting now.

Does the fj200 work well with magmod too? My only light from westcott is the universal flash. But I'm for sure not leaving magmod

Great video. I have the x pro c and initially worked great. After about 2-3 months the trigger worked hit and miss using the shutter on the camera. I was pulling my hair out to fix it. I found that licking the base of the trigger before putti it on the camera and it works! I suspect something not making a good connection. Could be the pin that drops down when you turn down the locking wheel. Have you heard of anything like this or suggest a fix?

I just discovered the QD system (used for military). They are amazing and really don't need the safety strap. Sunwayfoto and Leofoto are the currently brands manufacturing the arca clip/clamp, I highly recommend.

Camera makers need to start incorporating flash triggers into the camera itself. It’s such a common hotshot device that it’s time to make it a native capability.

Quick question: the X3 allows for 1/256 output power. Would that work on a V860II? I have an XPRO trigger which only goes down to 1/28. In some cases this is still to much power. Good suggestion on the UI; +1 on that!

Saw this on Adorama and was confused about the new version, thanks for clearing things up! Do you know if Flashpoint lights will work with Godox triggers? I want to add two of the 600 SE lights to my mix (they're only $409 apiece for Black Friday!) but would rather not buy yet more triggers. Thanks!

Yes everything Godox X Series / Flashpoint R2 series works together interchangeably.

Thank you. This helped. I'm using this with the X3 trigger. On the X3 the ID needs to be set to off. Just make sure the Group and channel are the same and the V350 needs to be set to slave. After that you are good to go.

THANK YOU!!! I cannot believe this fix was so simple. I thought my flash was bricked for over a year now because it was stuck on 14mm. I pushed the diffuser down a little and "click," it works now.
