you mention about the units being fitted wrong way round, i notice of the 2 units behind you one is wrong way round ? ie the one on the right, i think they should be like the one on the left, ive done same myself without thinking, and need to spin it around .

I just bought the doors with inserts. Not only does it stop your records from going too far into the unit, but you stop potential damage from sunlight and reduce dust! The only thing you need to be careful of is the hinges, but if you look after your records, you will be careful anyway!

I don’t know a single person who prefers to cover up their album spines, by putting a door in front of them. Kinda don’t get it…
@andrewhaines325911 күн бұрын
@VinylJunkies666 now you do! As I said, the main reason is to reduce damage by sunlight bleaching the spines. Unfortunately some of my CD and DVD spines have faded, red is particularly prone. I know which albums are in each "cupboard " so it's not an issue when looking for an item, and if someone looks through the window, it just looks like a display cabinet with storage and hides the expensive vinyl collection. As bonus points, my wife doesn't complain about it looking like a record store!

Well, back in the day, my mom had a record player and the records were either lent or given to us by her friends. That was a long time ago . Now in my adulthood though I hear music on my iPhone due to its practicality when I’m on the go, I feel like it’s time to go back to the vinyl days but this time , making my own journey. I’m not planning to have a very big turntable or an expensive one. I just want something with at least decent sound quality and I can put away easily when I’m done and I don’t plan on using it everyday. I love technology very much . I find it very useful especially when I don’t have my notebook and pen but the problem with it is that nowadays (apart from video games) practically nothing is physical and we humans need that sense of preservation

I agree with you. These are entry level record players for the new generations, to get to know what vinyl is all about. If they like it, their next move will be to get a much better one like an Audio Technica, etc. No need to buy expensive hardare, just to find out that you didnt like it. These cheap record players have a place in the market, dont sound great, but at least, you can play any of the millons of LPs that are all around in the flea markets, even at the basement of your house.

I've heard a certain one is much much better than their early crappy suitcases, I wish they would bring out the auto changer again but much better quality one with all the modern features but vintage looks. Technics did a great on the 1950 model back then and we in the UK never got one. My daughter started buying them a couple of years ago. I have friends who are digging vinyl still.

I love this project. It speaks to me because I suffer from a degenerative physical disease so it feels like this is how my body is going. Slower, admittedly, but still... I also hate those nerds. I'm just vibing with the music and thinking about how much longer the pain has to go before stage 6.

INFO: Altın gün (meaning: Gold day) is a Turkish music group that reinterprets the Anatolian melodies and regional folk songs of Anatolian Psychedelic Rock groups (Erkin Koray, Barış Manço, Cem Karaca, Selda Bağcan, Kurtalan Express, Moğollar, 3 Hürel, Ersen and Dadaşlar etc.) and also their own songs. The group continues its life in the Netherlands. It consists of 5 people in total, 3 of whom are Turkish (2 Vocals, Synthesizers, Bağlama, Saz, Guitar, Percussion). 2 of the musicians (Bass and drums) are Dutch fans of Anatolian Psychedelic Rock.

I can't figure out why I have vivid memories of 45 s that had 2 different bands highlighted. I bought a 45 with simple minds " don't you" on side A and Morris day " jungle love" on side B. Am I going crazy? We had a room in the garage that was full of these types of 45s!
