I am an ex problem animal control officer in the transition period from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe Rhodesia. I had the very best mentours,Mike le Grange, Willie de Beer and Ron Thompsom who was my provincial head. I know I irritated them all with my naivete, but they were incredibly patient with me. Especially Mike who suffered .375 muzzle blast in the ear during at least one elephant crop raider incident! Sorry Mike. Sorry Willie. You both made the Zimbabwe requirement for commercial hunting a fact of life. Conscientiously, I can no longer participate in Sport or Trophy hunting but I will NEVER forget the invaluable life lessons they taught me about wild life management in isolated areas where Humans and Zimbabwes wild life conflict!

Its not like that, it was just a reflection of how elephants capacity is becoming more than the existing ecosystem

I think they’re something to be learned here: if humans mind their business in the presence of wild animals, so will the wild animals, including elephants in this instance
