Hi Randy. Round of applause for your courage to share your families story. You are a pillar of strength and support to your daughters! I'm an RDH in California and my dad is named Randy as well and he is also my strength and support. Thanks for being brave to share your story. . I like "Raise the Roof with Randy" or "Randy's Roundup". Take Care!

Randy thank you for being so honest, I was also in an abusive relationship when I was a teen and this is probably how my parents feel, it probably still haunts them too :( I will always regret putting them through that pain!

I found out I was pregnant when I was 15 on New Year’s Eve 2005..exactly 23 days before my 16th birthday. My dad didn’t speak to me...not one single word..he wouldn’t even look at me. When he finally did, it was the day I found out I would be having my first born son (have a total of 3 kids and all are mommas baby boys..14, 11, and 9) (and for those reading this and wondering, it was a happy ending for me..my boyfriend then is now my husband..we will be celebrating 11 years married and 15 years together anniversary next month 🥰) when my father finally spoke to me, all he could do was cry..he was so disappointed, had zero faith in me or my boyfriend (now husband) I carried for 36 weeks..the day my son came into the world was life changing..my dad became a first time grandpa and I know he carried so much guilt for the way he treated me throughout my pregnancy..I’m sure if he could travel back in time he’d make different choices...but I’m a parent..I get it. No one wants that for their teenage children. However, Chelsea was beyond lucky to have you. Your parenting and love helped her become the proactive parent she is today. I always say, people take two roads..they either work endlessly to become the parents they had...or they work endlessly to be everything their parents weren’t.. clearly Chelsea had wonderful parents, an amazing support system, and she’ll make sure she loves and supports her children that way her parents did her. She knows her worth..and she finally got her happy ending...good job Randy!!

Love it. Great topic, info that totally makes sense. Just wish I would've heard/known about this years ago when my son was little. Just one (of many on that list) he was born tongue-tied & quite forward. Even tho it made it so he couldn't nurse & I had to formula feed, lovely insurance wouldn't do anything about it unless/until it became an issue with speaking. At 2, it did, so via a two minute laser surgery in a hospital (that took way too much prep imho, not eating/drinking ((tell THAT to a 2 yr old, phew.. Esp when surgery was scheduled for like 1pm! I mean, idk WHAT they were thinking there?!) Having to hand him off, so groggy at the O.R. was heart-breaking. Then, hours of recovery + mom 'nerves', just waiting for him to fully come out of the anesthesia, urinate/eat a popsicle (which he never liked, so was difficult) so we could go home, was horrendous. Funny thing, once in the car & on the road, I heard clear as day from the back seat... what was always, 'ahpeee-duce"...... "momma, apple juice?" Talk about shock.. wanted to slam on the brakes thinking... I had the wrong kid!?! ;) Thanks for sharing, I'm sure many will use & appreciate the valuable info! Be well.

We all say we are 'blessed'.... It takes something really big/bad happening tho, to truly realize how blessed we really were! Have watched the show since the beginning & it's great to see a family w/ compassion, integrity & an actual moral compass! What should be the norm, has sadly become rare gems. Thanks for sharing your SPARKLE! :) ~ Enjoy every precious second!

Randy, you honestly did an amazing job. You're such a great dad. I've thought that since the first episode of the show. I love the strength, openness and honesty you and chelsea share. As someone who survived physical and mental/emotional abuse as well, nothing compares to having the support of your family and having parents that love you regardless of your struggles. I love that you shared your experience at a dental conference, the more people who are aware of the signs the better. One person believing in you and offering support to you can make all the difference for the victim. Seeing chelsea where she is now, seeing the type of mother she is, seeing her push through all her struggles and continue reaching for her goals and achieving them is so empowering and inspiring. She is an amazing example and role model to so many girls and women. Thanks for sharing your story, Randy. Keep making videos and speaking out! You are great at it and have a lot of valuable insight. Sending you guys love from Ohio ♡

I loved this Randy! I am a domestic abuse survivor. Similar story to Chelsea's...I was so lucky to leave my abuser and find solace in life without him. I have raised my boys by myself for the last 8 yrs and I too am waiting for my Prince Charming and wonder when he will ever come..I know it will all happen in Gods time ♡

Randy your speech was powerful and you may have felt awkward but you came across well 😊👍 Your advice to Chelsea was spot on 👌 and i wish i had a dad to turn too for advice as i don't. Your words would honestly help me see sense and get me through the darkest times of my life! During my abusive controlling relationship of 6 years, i would often watch Teen Mom and see Chelsea go through the same situations as i did. So to see Chelsea then grow with confidence as the years went by and become her vibrant, out-going self again, meeting Cole and finding true love and happiness, i wished that that would happen for me and still do! I am older and in my 30s and i am finding the after effects of the abuse even harder. I am also feeling pretty lost like i don't know who i am without him. He made me care about nothing else but him for years, i now don't know who i am without talking about my ex. These guys make you dependent on them like a drug that we can't live without and we begin to believe all they say. I too was isolated and lied to my family when i was back and forth with him for 6 years after sending him to jail for becoming violent. He was just like Adam , he had no respect for woman (or anyone for that matter) and he was a womanising using parasite! He would shout "I'll do what i want when i want". Cheated all the time and denied it, calling me jealous and insecure just for calling him out on it! Just watching how you supported Chelsea and giving the advice you gave was helpful and reassuring to me. Simple and effective when you answered "To hurt you" when Chelsea weeped "Why would he say that?!". I left my sociopathic ex so many times and went back to him in secret. He would say to me "Whos gonna want a stupid c%*t like you" and play mind games and say i am a fat whore and call me every disgusting name that there is. I became obsessed with him because he made me feel that way i longed for his approval. He would say to me "No wonder your family hates you and you have no friends" when that couldn't be further from the truth, my family and friends adored me and hated him! Just like Adam, he fathered kids without thinking of it (5 children that i know of) and he would emotionally blackmail and question his little girls when they visited in the exact same way that Adam would with Aubree. My ex takes no responsibility in life, he is a pathological liar, lying is just a way of life for him and spends everyones money and makes his problems everyone elses. He is emotionally immature and has been in and out of jail three times with countless charges in between, yet all of his friends think he is a great guy despite this, apparently he is so much fun! He too would sleep and laze about when his daughters would come to visit whilst i took care of them and he also had alcohol and drug habits. Constant empty promises to the kids and letting them down. He too has a mother who stands by him no matter what and blames all of the woman he meets along the way, enabling him further! He resents his mum yet depends on her. His mum sees him as a poor soul, and it's never her sons fault!!! Sociopaths never change! Anyways i just want to say i am really happy you have this channel as i find you so calming and you have good advice and a healthy outlook on life. Even most recently with your advice on Aubree with the possible adoption away from Adam i felt that was really sensible advice that you gave about leaving it and letting it take it's natural course as Aubree matures. Chelsea is very lucky to have you as you are to have her in life. Thank you for making this video. Hope you and the family are well 🤗

This was such a GREAT to speech you gave! It's not very often we get to hear the "daddy's" perspective of everything. As a victim of DV myself, I hear lots of other women's stories through support groups and such. During my struggles, I lost my father very suddenly to Cancer, and never got the chance to speak with him. I never got the chance to hear his struggles or his side of everything that our family went through. You remind me so much of him, and it brings tears just thinking about him, honestly. Thank you for sharing your side!

I think Randy's Journey is a good name. Your speech was very good. I wished I had "doctors" like you in my life. For the last 10 yrs I think you have been a wonderful father and support for Chelsea. U are an awesome father that fights hard for his family. You should be very proud. I wished I had a father as supportive as you when I needed mine. Thank you very sharing your struggles and feelings with all of us over the last 10 years and especially this speech.

I'm very happy that your daughter got rid of Adam, and found the love of her life. He's a God send. Chelsea is one of maybe 3 teen moms that got their act together. Very glad that she has great parents that stood by her and instilled level headed morals in her, and together with her awesome husband can instill that in Aubree. God bless your family.
