I have a B7100 DT. (DT is gear driven for those who don't know). 16hp diesel engine is impressively strong. The tractor weighs around 1040 pounds but should be 1500 pounds. I have the agricultural tires and pulling something heavy it'll lose traction spinning all 4 tires. The B7100 is a little beast.

I want to purchase a flail mower for my b7100 hst. What is the best size to get for 1.5 acres of grass and should I get hammers or Y flails. I've been advised 1.15m is the max for my tractor but I don't want to crawl at snails pace with something too big.

All water cooled engines have a water pump of some description when talking about "modern" engines, that is pre much from the 30s and newer, probably before that too
@crpth13 жыл бұрын
@@nickwhite6717 - Many of these tractors (B5000, B6000, B7000) didn't have a water pump. Those who don't have it, rely on the thermosiphon system for water circulation! Rather crude but simple (cheap) system! Regarding Steven Hickman question on these particular one I don't know if there is a water pump. As described above, many of these models variants came with and without water pump. Without the owner confirmation, or a clear picture, its rather difficult to assert. Making an educated guess I would say this one, in particular, came with a water pump. ;-)
@nickwhite67173 жыл бұрын
@@crpth1 news to me but willing to listen. Thermosyphon is a very crude but i suppose in constant rpm op such as this it could work sufficiently enough

Good video...Did you have any bogging down while going through the really tall stuff? Also, do you think the same mower, but the 48” model would be too much for that tractor to handle?
@JaredWatson0074 жыл бұрын
I'd hesitate to get the wider model with a B7100 unless you were sticking with the kind of rough grass I'm mowing here. I have mowed some rougher areas with this model and while it did fine I don't think I'd want to go any bigger for that stuff. Maybe the type of flails also impacts performance? I have the Y flails on this. I also can't remember what the weight of the wider mower was ... that alone could be a dealbreaker with this tractor.
@russ42943 жыл бұрын
I'm going to purchase a flail mower for my b7100 hst. It will mow 1.5acres of grass. What is the maximum width mower I could use.

This is pretty much the same as the tractor I have a yanmar 140 and that thing is a beast for its size and sips diesel fuel I can easily mow 5 acres on a gallon and a half of fuel. Unfortunately mine isn’t 4x4, but that pedal that locks in positive traction saved me many times.

Japanese tractors don't age, if you take care of em they will outlive many generations, i mean this one here is almost 50 years old and a lot of japanese tractors are, and you wouldn't even guess they are if they are cleaned
@crpth13 жыл бұрын
These older Japanese tractors are robust simplicity to it's best! I have an older Satoh (later became Mitsubishi) 15hp 2 cyl. diesel. Very similar package as the one in the video. Due to several issues and the damn Covid19. That thing was "abandoned", in another country (literally), for two years in a row. I went there a few weeks ago. Useless to say the battery was dead as a Dodo, but I put auxiliary battery cables. And in a matter of seconds the old tractor was back to life!! Running on the same old diesel I left in the tank two years ago!! Honestly, to my great surprise and my neighbor who witness the all scene! Meanwhile I brought it with me. Cleaned the dust and the million spider webs that came along! Changed oil, cleaned the air filter, lubed everything on sight, etc. Inclusive charged the SAME battery! Yep, it's holding charge just fine! The fact remain that the paint is looking sad, to say the least. The seat rubber as been plucked by the birds! So great swaths of it are simply not there anymore! BUT, lo and behold, the tractor start, run and perform AS NEW! Whoever can get it's hands on one of this simply amazing workhorses. Can consider himself a lucky Man. ;-)

Thinking about a Betstco FH-EFG125 48” medium duty to pull my MF GC1705. Planning on getting it with hammers to replace my bush hog. Any complaints or maintenance issues?
@JaredWatson0074 жыл бұрын
I've had no issues at all and it's done a great job where I've used it. I have the Y flails on it so I can't speak to how well the hammers will work for you. I've also had a great experience with Betstco's customer service so far (which is important to me) if that helps.
