This is the best single song played by members of Phish between 2004 and 2009.

Trey looked like shit this tour. Caught a bunch of shows and it was so heart rending...so fucking grateful he's alive and healthy and Phish is still with us.

First show. And, just to make things really weird, I had the final exam for my EMT license the next morning. That was an interesting experience. It worked out, though. Passed the exam, and left for Limestone, ME immediately afterwards. Why did the CPR mannequin just wink at me? Oh yeah, 🍄 ... lol.

"Taken far away" indeed. One of the best versions of this ever played

I don’t remember much about these two night other than the fact that I was there. Perhaps a naked person got taken away from near the side of stage in the stands at some point?
@sethstine469825 күн бұрын
Yep. First set of the 2nd night. After that, the whole night had a weird vibe to it. I think the band was rattled. Although the Split Open and Melt in the 2nd set might be one of the best versions ever.

I saw them play with Sugar Blue (encore) in Tinley ‘97. Unless they played with him a 2nd time, this is from TP.

Search for the Phish song titled Dave’s Energy Guide. After you’ve discovered this, look up the song Discipline by King Crimson.

Amazong to see these same four dudes still putting it out there almost fourty years later. Not in a comparative way here, but seeing as the deads career within the same entity lasted thirty years, the Phish from Vermont are so far beyond established at this point, theres a permanant mark they've left on the american land and soundscape. Nobody else has managed what theyve managed to do and build on. The dead are first and foremost to me my favorite American band thats ever been, but its undeniable the accomplishments these four dudes made within their realm of music. Everything and more, every passing year brings more and more fullness to their career in Phish. Same four guys, 37 years into the same moniker, their music isnt going anywhere but up up and away

My God Trey was a beast in his day. And this was PRIOR to his prime (obviously) but I miss the days when he melted faces. The band as a whole is so much better now (40 years later) but Trey is much more focused on vocals these days and pedestrian in his playing. Not knocking the boys - my fav all time band, just miss the old days.
@Marshall_Stacks2 ай бұрын
Pedestrian? Bro. Get over yourself.
@andrewwolf77982 ай бұрын
@@Marshall_Stacks To clarify, he isn't pedestrian amongst other guitarists, he is simply less of a monster than he was in his earlier days. I think anyone who has been listening specifically to his playing for the past 30 years would agree.

I was there those shows and man hearing the crowd roar when Wipeout starts during possum gives me goosebumps and at the same time bums me out. Just had so much fun back then. Was on a mini tour between 3 venues at that point. I think Worcester being the final stop. Or maybe not. Can’t remember. The shows back then were just amazing. Treys guitar was at its peak. I haven’t watched a video from this era in a long time and man watching him impresses me. Was so used to it then we almost took it for granted.

Wow I didn’t know this was recorded!! I wasn’t far away from this camera. I was tripping really hard. Not something I’ve done at that many shows since usually I would be on either full tour or a long run of shows and it can be really staking of a substance. These shows were awesome. Saw some amazing shows from 97-99. Not sure how anyone can argue that phish from 94-98 or 99 wasn’t the best period. So tight and all the amazing songs! There are very few songs past farmhouse I can really dig. I think they tried to add too much lyrics. For me it’s all about their instrumentals and jams. Wordy slow songs just don’t do it for me. While with Grateful Dead or JGB a lot of the slower songs are my favorite.
