Sometimes I think it's criminal, sometimes I think it's for the best, that they only released one album. Splendid has no bad songs. I'd love to know what they're up to now.

Boy wonder Bobby Long sings and gymnast swings swell, tap dances with verve and the speed and precision of then adult tap star Eleanor Powell.

Nor did he do anything else in the media like tv, voice acting, show host etc,. He had Completely Disappeared. No one in 74 years since has ever gone looking 4 him. Until Me*

Happy 74th Anniversary 2 this movie. Especially because there a was child prodigy who co-starred in the movie. His name is Bobby Long and he disappeared months after the movie premiered in 1947. What's most disturbing is that no one Ever went looking for him. Until now. A toast 2 Bobby Long & IHIB 🍹👼💖

Hi Gabriel! I don't know if you've already tried this avenue,,, but you can find his original address(s) and research his father's records and history,, and property tax records along with other ~publicly available~ info! Marriage records, births and death records are all available!!!! It'll take some hoofing and puffing, lol,, (huffing and puffing!)

@@newmoon54 I've already got that covered 👍😁👍 I've done All the research looking thru old newspaper articles and it lead me 2 a treasure trove of Bobby Long's history 💖 I know where his childhood home was but I can't go there now, not until I make the money 4 it 💸 Here are 3 facts I've discovered, his full name was Robert Logsdon Jr, his favorite snack was tunamelt sandwiches, & he had a puppy named Snookie 🐶 (as if he wasn't adorable enough) 💖 Thanks 4 the support 💖

I intend to solve the mystery of Bobby Long before or even between the 73rd & 75th anniversaries of It Happened in Brooklyn. Bobby finally deserves to have his story told. And maybe his unfinished business was to be in the next BIG movie musical in Technicolor. The movie that could've landed his way to stardom and marked his legacy in history. I'm going to make the attempt to bring his story to the Big screen and it's going to be the Best Movie that Bobby had always dreamed of being in. Natch!* #Justice4BobbyLong*

Bobby Long sounds like a porn name....It's been 8 months... when's the "release"? BTW I thought it was a Donald O'Connor protege...
@gabrielvidrio32104 жыл бұрын
@@musicom67 If only he had the chance to meet Donald O'Connor. But it seems like he didn't. But I do know he was a fan of Fred Astaire & Gene Kelly. And maybe he did get to meet either one of them. For all I know that poor kid didn't get the chance to perform in a Technicolor musical. A name like his wouldn't be considered a porn star's name unless you know where the gender belongs too. Don't you dare disrespect this kid's memory. For all we know he might've been murdered. And if not, he would be 85 years young and probably would still have the same swagger he had as a kid.

Look ever since Coronavirus hit the world economy, everything was put on hold. Including my investigation. So now I have to wait until probably next year until I can find the real answers before the 74th anniversary of IHIB (It Happened in Brooklyn) And I think the answers could be in the one place where it all began: Brooklyn*

It's 2020, and I can't think of 1 'modern' notable tap dancer...not that I'm looking...I think I last left off with Gregory Hines...
@sandaglad8 жыл бұрын
Whatever became of Bobby Long, the boy tap-dancer here? You wonder about someone like him, talented, good-looking, then he vanished after this one movie, although someone mentioned a "Robert Long" who appeared in "Rodeo Rhythm (sounds like a musical short) from 1942. Bobby, where are you?
@gabrielvidrio32104 жыл бұрын
Sandaglad: I suspect the worst might have happened to him and his family... I think Bobby was murdered out of spite or jealousy at the idea that a kid as talented as him would be considered a threat when it comes to seeking fame at the time. So whoever was mad at Bobby carried a vendetta on him and also hired some "higher" help to make him "disappear" without a trace. So that they wouldn't have to deal with "competitive" celebrity status. Same as they did to his parents. No reports, no witnesses, no problemo. I hope I'm wrong. But it seems highly and I mean Highly possible.

@@musicom67 In case you haven't noticed, FYI, I am the 1st one in 73 years to finally investigate what really happened to Bobby Long. He was just an innocent little boy with Crazy Talent and a charming personality who's dream (like many) was to simply make it as a Star. I believe it was all stolen from him. Not just his dreams, but his Very life. And whoever was responsible obviously made sure that his existence and his legacy were Wiped Out from history. Making sure that no one would ever know or even investigate what happened to him. This really matters to me because people like him who had the opportunity to shine on the big screen once and disappear the next don't deserve to be wiped out from history. Don't you understand. I could have a chance to give Bobby Long's life a happy ending at Long Last.
@JudgeJulieLit Жыл бұрын
@@gabrielvidrio3210 if so, how awful. And crazy, given the many other tap dance stars, including children up-and-comer performers, to whom that didn't happen. The arts are richer for their variety, as of performing acts and actors; "the more, the merrier." And as each performer is uniquely themself, no risk of usurping another performer's look, personality and talents.
@gabrielvidrio3210 Жыл бұрын
@@JudgeJulieLit I really appreciate the reply 💟 Thanks 😁 And I found out more about Bobby Long than U can believe 🌟🤴💖 He was 14 when he worked in the movie & 15 when it premiered (and when he "disappeared") 👤 Just before he went on tour 2 promote the movie, Bobby was outraged at the fact that MGM Studios didn't pay him the right amount that he was promised from his work in the movie. And another young actress felt the same, Barbara Challis, joined Bobby in the suit that lasted until February of 47 💖 Bobby & Barbara won $146,000 (that would be the equivalent of $14,000,000 today I guess) and they called it square and split the money 💰🤑💰 Something tells me that Bobby may have had a crush on Barbara Challis (of course she was attractive) and they may have had a 'fling' together 💏 I only wonder if any of that had 2 do with his disappearing (along with his family) otherwise something or someone convinced him into giving up his dreams @ stardom 🌟🤴🏻💖
