Today's show and no metion of the Blackhawks comeback win against the Washington Capitals, down 2-0 winning 3-2, Donato scoring gritty goal, and the young defense making big hits and joining the offense, rushing the Puck and adding to the Hawks Offense, and playing solid D in their own end, C'mon Man 🏒🥅

It’s been the same for a decade. Toronto, Tampa, Boston. They run the division. Over the last 6 years Florida has entered that convo. It ain’t gonna change. Ottawa, Buffalo, Montreal and Detroit can’t brake in these teams just to good. It been the story for 10 years

Sens haven’t been bad defensively for two years now. Under Martin last year the Sens were above average defensively, and this year under Green they’ve been top10 in 5v5 defence. Suggesting Ullmark is bailing out a bad defensive team is just poor analysis. If anything the Sens need help offensively. 5v5 offensively they are below average at generating dangerous looks.

Thank you! Lots of "experts" always seem to be so misinformed about Ottawa (Steve Dangle podcast comes to mind). All good. Used to the disrespect.
@jobemi24224 күн бұрын
@ I get it to an extent. Sens were a bad defensive team under Smith, and when goalies struggle in Ottawa it is easy to just assume the defence is still bad. It takes a while for most teams to shake the preconceived narratives they have and Ottawa is no different. But part of being a pro sports analyst is being up to date on current trends. I don’t expect anyone to be fully informed on every team (that’s impossible), but that’s when you have to reach out and talk to those more knowledgeable or dig into analytics. Talking about the Sens being a dumpster fire of a defensive team is just outdated news and shows these guys are just going off of assumptions instead of proper analysis.
@Whitesquall1233 күн бұрын
Totally. I'm tired of hearing that the Sens were a defensive train wreck until this year. Their NHL goalies were putting up bad AHL numbers last year. And when they get 900+ save percentage, their record is something like 43-8-3, now they're getting that level of goaltending.

Chris Dreary has managed to demoralize the whole team, while not fixing any of the problems with the lazy underachieving "core"... it was supposedly Gallant's fault, then Goodrow, then Trouba.... Chris Dreary is a joke, maybe he can pick up Jagr for a few first rounders, now that he is retired.

Your argument about Buffalo is wrong. Or All Canadian teams would be prosperous and expansion would happen there. They are not and they don't, no one wants to go to Canada why, dollar conversion is poor. NY 2nd highest taxes it's the same thing. Nobody wants to voluntarily just throw money away. The NHL has been on a slow transition to something similar to Baseball, or Basketball. The days of honor, grit, pride are gone we have a soft league with players who prioritize money over the team, success, and tradition.

The trade with the Kings was a win/win for both clubs, however, long term, the Wild will have won this trade. Yulov is also a high end prospect and a top 6 forward in the future. Wild are building for years of relevancy going forward.
