One thing. When you cross to do a low block, make sure it’s the height of a low lock, not a high level cross

I used to hate this because they look impossibly fast even using the sport version. But if not for this video, I would have never discovered frameskipping. So this turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Beautifully effective against grapplers: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Karate, etc. There's a reason the ADCC National Champion in Owensboro was both terrified and shocked when he saw me use part of this for grappling purposes. "You _had_ to have some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu." Nope. Tae-Kwon-Do. "No, you _had_ to have had some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to do that!" Nope, just military Tae-Kwon-Do ranks only. Not the fake-kwon-do you see in the Olympics. Now Owensboro Gracie Jiu Jitsu opened up a striking course _just_ because I came in there and made their jaws drop, lol.

I had a hard time at first seeing how this one translated to fighting, but then one part proved devastating against an opponent that went for a double leg takedown. Poor fellow had no idea that even without kicks there are deadly counters to those things. There's a reason every vietnam war vet I've met says you _never_ go for a double leg in combat unless you want to die.

This was amazing, genuinely one of the most helpful pattern videos I've seen. Tbh even my instructors aren't this thorough. Edit: after reading through the comments I realize that although you're thorough you're also practicing the pattern nearly completely wrong. I wish I could use this video to study but now I have to find something different. Please fix this video and upload the proper performance, you're not helping anyone by keeping this up.

Obviously there is a lot of variations in the interpretations of the serie Hwa-Rang inside different schools of ITF-Taekwondo. There is a school that is using the sine wave, and a school which is not using the sine wave. Acording to my knowledge the so called x-block (WT: eotgeoro araemakki) has the same hand lowest as the front leg.

ITF has sinewave. If it doesn't have sinewave, it's not ITF...that is a fact.

My feedback: - Great power and pace - Low blocks and middle blocks are stopped too short. - Middle punches are too high - Walking stance is too wide and too long on the punches (you're overreaching) - There's only a kiyap at the end of the pattern, and you shouldn't be saying the name. A kiyap is just a yell, not talking. - Hands should be touching at the beginning and end, and breathing control to finish (not done) - Pants should be white at a traditional TKD school, not black (black symbolizes death, and that you are no longer doing any physical training) - Non-punching hand needs to be held higher (middle punches should NOT be rising to the target, they should be straight or descending) Punching up = less power! Overall: 7.5/10 Graded on my KZbin channel and at: Baehr Taekwondo Facebook page. Uploaded video coming soon.
