As patient as you pace your days There are no other ways To acquire your pain Than to hustle through that 9-to-5 To keep yourself alive Roll that hunger away But if the life you live ain't hard and true A job ain't saving you It's survive, eat, shit, love, and then die I’ve over-simplified myself Tried to disguise myself Just like everyone else And if a master's rule ain't far away From what your views display A... convey But I won't go if I don't know the way The sky just plays Going day by day As another year rolls away Suddenly as young as old Your mortal mass unfolds To sail uncertainty seas I found myself on mercy’s time Singing drunk on wine Looking for my memories I found a path of autumn leaves A distant solar breeze A long lost love in a bow But lovers come and lovers go Make you laugh and get you low Do you wrong like everyone else And if that light is far away Do not be let astray As fast as lightning trains you do it for yourself But I won't go if I don't know the way The sky just plays Going day by day As another year rolls away Yes sir As another year rolls away It’s easy to call out your king On any shameful thing If you know him by name But your ruler’s tongue is just a guide A well-harpooned disguise Your wells are one in the same And the oceans we (brought?) you bestow Your tides are high and low Swim the way of the wise As mercy springs its cross to bear The starlight doesn’t care You’re just like everyone else And the journey starts by going slow Then before you know There is just no more show There’s no place left to go But it keeps growing exponentially Til it’s plain to see, however painfully You do it for yourself And the universe is hard and lean Covert social machine I’m just another fiend A will unto himself But I won’t go if i don’t know the way The sky just plays Going day by day As another year rolls away Yes sir As another year rolls away I say As another year rolls away As another year rolls away

Day to Day for 6 Days a Week Song by L.A. Salami OverviewLyricsListenArtists Took the bus, took the train Went to work, ignored the pain What a rainy day, friendly faces Got dragged around all types of places Closed my eyes, smelt your hair Looked around but you weren't there Had some lunch, jacket potatoes Chicken wings and fried tomatoes After that, lit a fag Said a prayer and took a drag These days our toasts never do combust so much I burn for the both of us though Second day, second job Passing forth for the world to stop Shoes are too tight, feet are aching Called in sick but I was faking When I do go, I am late Always make the same mistake That mistake being not caring Six days a week, can't find my bearings But to be fair I might have cared Might have cared if you were there Might have cared if you were there Might have cared if you were there Stressed as hell, fatigued as fuck Putrid passion, rotten luck Worked to death, chompin' at the bit Crazed as Christ and broke as shit Watched the news, someone died Saw the mother, teary eyed Son shot dead on Walworth Road I thank God, no one I know I went to work for the NHS Mental health, people depressed Met Joanne, scared of living Afraid of dying, terrified of being Then met Paul, a schizophrenic Shaken limbs, paranoid fanatic Unwashed ten days in a row So afraid, almost paralytic I tell them that I do the same In certain moods, on certain days But despite the same ways I could think I could not do much to convince them Back to base, had a meeting Two kids die a week 'cause their parents beat them I wish I could say I was surpised The news just choose which ones to highlight Choose which ones to highlight Took the DLR, took the tube Read a book, nothing else to do Read Gill Hick, she survived the bombings Wrote a book, made a killing I read somewhere that some lost their legs Umpteen injured, 52 dead In some places far away That shit happens everyday Now scared of buses, scared of trains But got to get to work some way So I play with my life, you could say But don't we all, don't we all? Don't we all, don't we all? I got a gig, got myself booked Just down the road where Nick got jooked I get to sing my joys and sorrows Not made it yet, maybe tomorrow I closed my eyes, saw your face Looked around, you were no place I feel so left out when you're not around I feel so left out when you're not around But you are time and I am life And times a tyrant unto strife And strife's the type of life I seem to lead And time won't heal this wound easily Take your light, your shadowed passions I hear your talk, I see your actions What I don't see are your eyes Those flaming symbols of the night Was that your skin that I saw On the road, my ruined war? Were you wearing that Paisley I adore? Were you hatred, were you lust? You understand this 'cause you must That men have the consistencies Of love and war through history I must see you, I must know Did you falter, did you go? Did you go, did you go? Did you go, did you go? Did you go, did you go? Did you go, did you go? Did you go, did you go? Did you go, did you go? Charles was very talented. The Golden Year album is full of beautiful and powerful songs. Shame what happened, this stuff is up there with the best of them. I think this is as good as my favorite of this kind of music, Ultravox.

Probably the best depiction of depression that anyone has ever given, at least as far as i've heard. But it really does help us to see how we can, in fact, know each other. These lyrics help us relate to one another on a really deep level.
