I personally listen to either CDs, cassettes, or through the mp3 files on my phone - but physical media really gives off a different type of feeling compared to digital media; those who know the difference do feel it, which today’s younger generation can’t really appreciate, and that’s a pity. My dad used to buy records when he was younger but he never taught me how to value them, unfortunately; we didn’t have any at home - but he did introduce me to cassettes and CDs, before the streaming era, in the 2000s, which I’m grateful for. I find it great that so many people are nowadays striving for digital minimalism, healthy friction when it comes to convenience, and physical media. This is one of the few trends worth exploring and giving attention to. I like your channel and the topics you introduce; you’re a chill dude with respectable opinions, and I really wish you lots of success.

Thank you so much!! Since starting my channel I have been debating all these ideas with my friends and have found some interesting takes. But overall I trully think people are not giving music the value and respect that I think it deseves. I only want to "spread the word"

Great video! I’ve also thought about getting into vinyl but for the moment I’m a bit too broke for that. I started pirating songs in 2018 and am constantly updating my music library - I enjoy so much putting in the effort to have an album cover and all the song’s data. I’d still be using my old mp3 player from 2016 if it hadn’t died on me. But, honestly, I’d never opt for streaming services because I enjoy hiking while listening to music and there is no internet connection in the mountains most of the time. Good luck with your channel, looking forward to more stuff like this! Edit: grammar mistake

Yeah, I remember when I started collecting vinyl it was so cheap. Now I have to save up to get a couple of records. CD's look like a good idea for now.

When I was younger I pirated a shit ton of albums based on recommendations I found online. Nowadays I just listen to those albums on Spotify instead of downloading them. I think this is an improvement.

I guess, it's safer that way. Pirating music was always a little sketchy

Last time I found an amazing record, it was neither A, B, C or D. It was from listening to discographies of the bands at a festival I was going to. Ended up learning one of those bands was amazing, and they're now one of my favourite bands

You just grew up man. Please don’t creep on people’s ipods. I’m young, I still talk about music, I still enjoy the discovery. You’re having an early mid-life crisis that’s all.

That’s why I still use an iPod it’s much easier to listen to music through it And it’s also way cooler and nicer but I absolutely love the click wheel.

Yeah I've been thinking about getting one, but prices are going up and I don't want to spend that much money on it, but I'll keep looking for a good deal!

I still download/pirate music and use iTunes. I have never subscribed to a music service and I don't even like Netflix or Prime Video. Just for me knowing I have the digital files and be able to burn them to data DVDs as a lossless quality backup is satisfying. We should own our digital files, not subscribe to them.

I currently use spotify, but I kind of want to switch back to using itunes. But being an android user makes it kind of pointless.

Call me old school, but I started downloading pirated mp3s back in the mid 90's... And I still download pirated music today and store it locally on all of my devices 🤷♂️

Love this video. I've felt the exact same way for the past few years, despite being born in 2003. Started my own music library a few years ago. Learning how to manage a library has been incredibly fun. Looking forward to more content from you sir.

Thanks for the support 🫶 I'm currently trying to build my digital library, but have found a few obstacles

I get it, this video might have "old man yells at cloud" vibes but I truly think music deserves a bit more respect and love from us. But what do you think about this topic?
