I can to attest the healing properties of shamatha. One very obvious change is a MASSIVE decrease in arthritis pain since practicing shamatha, needless to say, the increase in equanimity. Thank You Lama Alan 🙏

11:40 emptiness 'a person is not identical to mind and body nor separate to mind and body' -the buddha 'the inapplicability of generalities to particulars is absolute.' yet they still function in accordance with the world.

Did something happen to talk 22? Or was it perhaps a secret empowerment? Thanks for the uploads BTW, I was looking for a good auditory Mahamudra teaching. Listen to a lot of Wallace's shamata teaching in retreat in Malaysia back in the day. Big fan of the attention revolution. Now I practice TWIM, but Dzogchen and Mahasi practice is my main background. I started with the Lam Rim and the Dalai Lama.

At around 2:00 The death of an Arhat is annihilation, Wallace thinks is fundamentally a false view... Its left open in the Pali Canon, but it's explained quite clearly in the Mahayana. Can anybody give me this explanation please? What happens to Arhats according to Mahayana? I never knew this was explained. How did they come to know this? It seems like this knowledge can only be known by an arhat that actually dies, and seems impossible to verify as a third person perspective.

What a charming, clear, intelligent, wise man Dr. Wallace is. I have listened to many spiritual teachers over the past 40 years and Dr. Wallace is so completely well-grounded and encouraging that he now tops the list!

not having the meditations included, for a log of a meditation retreat, kind of defeats the purpose of uploading this and being complete. The guided meditations are key, not optional.

how to move from vipashyana realizing coarse lack of a self to persons aka sautrantika path of seeing observing post meditation the existence of coarse imputation and coarse versions of 4 arya truths, into subtler imputation aka emptiness?

This one is amazing. The importance of ethics. The sign of the mind. Importance of incorporating wisdom from different traditions bc we are from western culture, not Tibetan culture. Be aware of the state the of the mind every second! Watch states arise and watch them dissipate! The rest will take care of itself. Thank you!
