If you use the glue, is the plant able to send roots through it? Is it better to use less so the roots have a better chance?

how do you get your air plants so big?
@rainforestflora8692 Жыл бұрын
Hi Diana, Not necessarily in this order but...Some species grow larger than others; some plants within a given species grow larger (just like people); and, of course, care has a lot to do with it. Bright light, a good watering schedule with good water and the judicious use of a fertilizer that has ammoniacal and nitrate nitrogen like Rainforest Flora's, Epiphyte's Delight. Good Growing!

It’s a shame that people post pictures of plants for sale and you think you will get one that looks like it and you get something that looks average. What’s the point in ordering if you don’t get what you expect.

How do you know your neoregalia is a mini? I have one I believe is mini
@rainforestflora8692 Жыл бұрын
The minis don't usually grow to over 15 cm (6") in diameter.
@Quincy-g7f Жыл бұрын
@@rainforestflora8692 Yeah definitely a mini then. It’s a mini neoregalia fireball. Long stolons with living moms and about two seemingly adult pups on each arm with mom. I’m guessing she’ll expire eventually unusual the pups are all near full size and all moms still thriving
@rainforestflora8692 Жыл бұрын
Actually, for mini Neos, the moms can look good for a long time. Such a cool genus!!! One goal is to develop a hanging basket of them in one pot over time.@@Quincy-g7f

New subscriber! How or what to do to acclimate air plants in a new environment? And how do I often should I water them when the humidity level at my place is between 65-86% everyday? It is pretty bright here even inside the house so I think they'll like that- I'm just not sure about watering them. Planning to buy spanish moss and some ionantha air plants- beginner here!

This was great and thank you very much for sharing. I am trying to look up the names of the 6 most common ones, but I can not spell th words to save my life let alone grow my plant knowledge. Maybe in future you can have the names as part of the video. Thank you very much and I am very happy to have stumbled upon your page. Have subscribed!

Thank you for our idea of saying the names. We'll do that going forward. There are so many great species, cultivars and hybrids. Most are just as easy to grow as any other.

@rainforestflora8692 Жыл бұрын
Hi Clint, So many aspects to this. Plants are like people-some get big and some don't. Also, good light, keeping the plant hydrated, and fertilizing it (Epiphyte's Delight) help. Temps in the 70 to 80s.

How do i get my air plant to grow air roots as yours have done
@bigbearbride Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your information. I just bought an extra large air plant that is brown in he middle like there was a spent bloom. Do I leave it or try to snip it off? Also when I was washing it and some slugs crawled out (yikes) so I tried to wash them out. Previous owner must had it on the ground.

Maybe you could tell us how to care for this gorgeous alien-like plant, and how long they grow until they die off...I heard this plant grow, flower and then give a few pups and eventually die. Not sure if that's true or not.
@paulisley7225 Жыл бұрын
Hello Burnout minion, Other videos we've produced discuss Tillandsia care in detail. In short, tillandsias are like people in that the grow and mature, and then produce new offset plants (pups) during and after they bloom (for most of them). The larger types can live for many years before blooming. For most of the smaller ones, their life cycle from offset it to grow, mature, flower and start the process over again with new plants, this on an annual basis. Good Growing to you!

@paulisley7225 Жыл бұрын
Certainly, Theresa. You can grow them in or on virtually anything-or nothing-as long as they get the requisite amount of light (at least over time) and water. Air movement is also good.
