I remember the environmentalist propaganda like it was yesterday. We also watched a video in middle school during the 90’s that showed NYC would need a wall built around it to keep from being underwater by the early 2000’s. Dumb crap like this kept me from driving until I was 20. The planet will be fine.

Is there someone out there that has solved the mistery behind the reason for cutting his ear off? My own interpretation goes as follows: Van Gogh being an ardent Bible reader must have remembered two passages from the Holy Scriptures after his argument with Gaugain. Those passages could have been the following: “And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell” (Matt. 5:29-30) and “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 11:15). Pondering on these two verses Van Gogh probably thought he committed a sin and gave his ear to a prostitute in order to lead her closer to God.as if he was lending her the ability to hear the word of God. These might be the motives for cutting his own ear off in my humble opinion.
