Seen Robbie jump some helicopters at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport back in 98, it was a privilege and an honor to shake the legends hand after the jump.

The idea that God could only forgive our sins by having his son tortured to death as a scapegoat, is surely from an objective point of view, a deeply unpleasant idea. If God wanted to forgive us our sins, why didn’t he just forgive them? Why did he have to have his son tortured?

Because it's the same reason someone goes to court for a crime and they are not just dismissed and forgiven. There is a penalty for sin but God showed us that He loved us enough to pay that price for us. It's a demonstration of how much He loves us. Which makes it all the more powerful and meaningful to us. A father doesn't just tell his child when he does something wrong your forgiven and there is no punishment that's not a father that loves his child. In this instance he took the penalty and therefore we are saved through Him and not of ourselves.

Because God is perfectly just. Every sin incurs a debt, and "the wages of sin is death." God said to Adam and Eve about the forbidden fruit, "In the day you eat of it, you shall surely die." For God to forgive sin without the payment of death would be unjust. However, God is also love. He loved us and wanted to forgive us, but somebody had to settle the debt. His own Son eternally agreed to be the one to take on flesh and pay the penalty (the Bible calls it making "propitiation") for our sin. The fact that it took such a horrendous crushing of his own Son to satisfy our sin debt demonstrates two things: 1) that God takes sin VERY seriously, and it is not to be trifled with, and 2) it shows how much he loves us, to put his Son through that. But God also loves Jesus, and he raised him up in glory and seated him at his right hand to judge the nations.

Hello and God Bless . Jesus Christ had a human body to have the same options to temptations and choice we all have and He lived his life without fault or acts against The Father , God . The unblemished Lamb of God . So He was God’s sacrifice because having no sin makes him worthy of being the sacrifice for our sake . It’s Gods standard . Like jumping on a grenade to save your friends . The best way to understand is to be willing to read with an open heart , the New Testament . To be fair ! Book of John is a good reference to analyze and consider . Peace ! The truth is liberating . God Bless !
