The condescending way Gene and Paul talk about Peter and others is nauseating to me. I can't stand people who act like that. 😕 Gene especially talks in a way that makes it seem like he's looking down at you. Like he's more important than you. Like if a fire suddenly started in the building you were in, he'd expect you to let him leave first... and for you to hold the door open for him too!

The unmasking event on MTV was, at best, underwhelming. This video shows how small scale and even pathetic it was. As if they were on some local TV station late-late night show at 3am.

By then, Paul Thtanley was seeing a therapist (shrink) for his insecurities for many years. The thing about Thtanley is that just like Gene, he had no friends outside the band. When the show or the recording session is over, Peter, Ace, Vinnie, Mark, Bruce, Eric Carr, Eric Singer, Tommy, Anton, etc… all went out for beers or a late dinner with friends, family, roadies. Not Gene or Paul who were better than the peasants. Frank Zappa was the same with his band. Good composer and performer but a bitter lonely man. Paul McCartney and John Lennon were the same. No friends, just work. Miserable people. Gene’s Roast was attended by none of the members of KISS and had to pay professional comedians to tell jokes. Sad. Paul is even worse.

Once KISS took of their trademark makeup, they became just another boring and lame band. They could've kept the makeup on the entire time but they should have made much better albums than the 4 solo KISS albums, "Dynasty," "Unmasked" and "Music From The Elder." Many fans bailed out because of those lackluster and "unKISS albums!" 🙄

I think Paul is too hard on ”The Elder” and ”Unmasked”. Both have solid song writing. They are different, not bad.

Kiss weren’t playing soccer stadiums, as Gene says, in Australia. They were playing cricket grounds (apart from Lang Park, a rugby league ground), which are much larger.

It's odd how Gene n Paul cling to the Creatures album. During the 80s they played more off it than they played their current album they were actually touring for. Creatures is okay, mostly bland music with laughable lyrics that reek of desperation. Danger, war machine, killer,,,,,lol really guys. Paul going on bout how he lives on edge is so fake

Gene's tunes with the Beatlemania guys are my favorite. Every time I hear "Always Near You" my entire consciousness goes to 1977/78, and I can see Fall and Halloween, see the color change in the sky and smell the burning leaves. I really wish KISS wouldn't have gone the way it did for 20+ years after the reunion. It's fvcking depressing.

Gene and Paul are so jealous of Beth. Paul goes on about the many takes of the vocal part, that's all a part of recording process isn't it. So Paul and Gene's recorded parts were all one takes? Telling such stories only weaken their legacy in my opinion.

Paul talks differently in these narrations than he does in interviews or audio clips from the early days. With the early stuff you can really hear the kind of "street" New York accent. Here, he sounds more like, "Mr. Intellectual ". It's weird. Just an observation.

When I was 9 years old I'd come home from school and fire up the TV to watch 'Speed Racer' and 'Battle of the Planets'. It was during this time that KISS was selling a silver satin jacket with the Dynasty faces on the back. Everyday my best friend and I would wait for the commercial to air and when it did, we'd call each other up afterward and compare notes on what we saw. It was a MAJOR deal for us back then to come across ANY video of the band because that's just how it was back then. If something like KZbin were available back then, we would have never left the house.

KISS stopped being KISS after the Love Gun tour. KISS is Ace, Paul, Peter and Gene in costumes and make up playing heavy metal music. Why they changed their music style still makes no sense to me.
