Years ago I would carry spare 20’s to carry in my car to give to the homeless I would come across. Now I’d go broke in a day if I did this. I carry ones and fives now unfortunately. There was a homeless encampment tucked away by one of my doctors offices in Sacramento. It was out of the way decently clean and they didn’t seem to bother people. Oneday I showed up and the whole camp was being bulldozed and trashed while they looked on to their life’s possessions trashed like it was nothing. I was disgusted. A better option put some port o potties down there maybe a couple make shift solar showers and recycling bins. As long as they keep the area clean leave them be. Why is this a hard concept? It’s gotten out of hand in Sacramento but clearly the options given to them are horrible. These people’s lives have meaning and value. To just toss their belongings in a dumpster like that is beyond heartless.

I live near Sac and work with a group that feeds folks and does wound care. There is not enough help for these people. The older folks that you interviewed deserve so much more…they all do. Mental illness is the main culprit here…the tiny homes are a joke. The city had to do something so they plopped those down and expect women to sleep in a crate (tiny home) without locking the door? They need a different plan to make the tiny home plan more efficient and effective.

God help these people.

Sounds like a bunch of people who are complaining about living in their parent’s houses but they look like they’re 50. Get a job, maybe 2. When you can get certifications to make more money. I believe our society needs to teach the them more that life is about providing for yourself and not being a burden on your fellow human beings. Everything else comes second. If they don’t want to be a function part of society then maybe they should be shipped off to an island. And every year we send a boat back to the island, and if people change their mind they can come back and partake in society by being a function member of it. They shouldn’t benefit of the backs of working people.

Building tiny homes isn’t getting people off the streets. Making them work to provide for themselves is.

Now these people are in our alleys, our bus stops, outside of business and in our parks. The Phoenix mayor is a joke and our governor Hobbs is a trashcan.
