I'm 36. Aviation and flying is something ic always dreamed of wven as a toddler. My son and I fly battary powered r. Planes for fun. When we have time. I have an amazing fascination with plans amd flight. I am a cnc machinist and built parts for air bus, boong, raytheon amd currently lockheed martin. I'm wanting to get a private pilots license to finally fulfill my drams of flying. I'd like toone day charter cheap flights from southern Utah or Las Vegas to Northern Utah Sat lake city. The first 5 Years will be me just Lerning to fly as my training tells. Any tips or advice I'd appreciate

After watching this, it motivates me to try and get my pilot license for planes. Was working on my rotorblade license but the cost trippled after my second flight and no longer could afford it. Seeing how flight training is a ton cheaper, I might try to get my license for planes. (I checked the prices locally to me and it is 70% cheaper)

I thought the test was easy. I did my test in 2008 at 42 hours. The trick is to fly at least 3 days a week and never take a break. I did all my own book work by bit torrenting the sporty's videos, so I only paid to fly. I also found a flight instructor that was so hard up for hours he did about 20 of them for free, so he could get an airline job. (He got that airline job, hated it, and is now a cop). I saved 10k and got my private with an instrument rating with just a little leftover. I flew for a year and never did it again. Yeah, it was a bucket list item, and nowhere close to my most expensive one.

Passing your theory before even starting your practical is such a good idea to speedrun your practical and save a lot of money. However, I feel like you could also learn a lot of theoretical stuff during your practical lessons that may help you to pass your theory exam. So it really depends per person what they are comfortable with and how well they can pick things up. I'm considering going for PPL and I have a decent buffer of money for it, but I'm more comfortable if my buffer is a little higher just in case I happen to require more flight hours or something. It would suck if you have to pause your training halfway due to financials running dry. xD

I watched this video about 3 years ago when I was 14 and thinking about aviation for a career and found myself watching it over and over during my training to see what I had left and understand the process. I just passed my checkride today and want to say thank you for inspiring me to partake on this journey!

Last I checked cost of ppl almost 20 k! I recieved my ppl in 1973 cost of 1200 bucks in new C150!...53 hrs
