Zach, I came across your old VMAX on craigslist. I was interested in purchasing it from the current owner but I'd like to find out why it has a rebuilt title. Is that something you would be able to tell me about?

Marko Strbac i looked at it again and it might be my bike. looks much different but it has the right tires and the same seat rip. I sold it 4 years ago so I dont know what it has been through. but when I bought it, it had been sitting for a long time. so I put in a new stator, pick up coil, and completely rebuild the carbs. It ran flawlessly. the only reason I sold it is because im 6 and 1/2 feet tall and just needed a bike with more leg room. as for the rebuilt title, if that is my bike then as of 2010 it was a clean title. can say what happened after. Vmax's are a ton of fun.

Thanks for the information Zach. I might go check the bike out sometime this week. What would you think a fair price would be to pick it up for? I am the same height as well, what are you riding nowadays?

so is the operation of this pretty smooth? and it was kind of hard to tell in the video but do you have to lift the handle to remove from park? thanks for making this only video i could find.

you only lift the handle to go into reverse from neutral and from reverse to park. from park to drive you can just go straight down. also if you hold the handle up you can go straight from neutral to park. and yes it is pretty smooth. its in my daily driver and I have no complaints.

I thought when you push it down from neutral that was fist then you push it down again for 2nd then down again for 3rd or d

Its the same as what ever shifter you already have in your car. Most transmissions are PRND21 but a reverse valve body trans would be PRN12D

they are fender well exit headers. these ones are headmans on a small block. but if you have a big block then headman and maddog make a set. fender well headers are the best. they are not in your way like regular headers, after you put then on you will never go back to the regular style.

its been a while since I did them and I dont think I had to do anything. I might have had to trim the inner fender a little but im not sure.

I have had this one in my 79 F250 with a 429/C6 for over a year now and its worked pretty good. The only thing I did to it was pack the ratchet with thick bearing grease. Just to keep it smooth.

You might be right. I ended up selling the bike before it needed to cleaned again, so never looked at it. The shape of the airbox is such that it favors one side of the filter.

I just pulled mine out to throw it away. The metal cap effectively blocks 1/3 of the surface area and when I cleaned it I noticed that I couldn't feel air through the filter material when blowing on it with a blow dryer on high. K&N might be good for some situations, but not the KLR650. I think a Uni-filter would serve you a lot better. YMMV

I went into mine and found a centering spring adjustment that I had to raise just a touch,, works great again.

Its comes with a variety of different brackets for different transmissions. I installed mine on a C6. You just replace two of the bolts at the rear of the oil pan with longer ones to hold the bracket. I believe that you can download a PDF of the instructions from summit racing.

I had a small problem with mine like that. It didn't want to grab second from drive. The cable had too much tension going around the transmission to the bracket. make sure that the cable has a much of a straight shot as possible. Hope this helps. If not then good luck.

I've been running one of these in my 68 Charger for about 4 years. Recently started giving trouble, it's not grabbing the ratchet mechanism regularly when going from N-D-2-1. Going to dig into it tomorrow.

@HDxLoki They sound just like the video, but better. The camera is only so good and its hard to describe sound with words. This truck has had glasspacks, delta 50's, and whats on it now (super 44's), as well I have heard my friends trucks with various other mufflers and these by far sound the best. By the way this truck also has no cats.

@FordMaverickFanatic They are Headman fender well headers, and yes they did rust out, I've had them for over two years and almost exclusively drive it in the snow/salt and rain. (ride my motorcycle whenever possible). I'm dew for a new set in the summer.

You should put a 2 or 3 speed on the front and run a second chain to the rear wheel on the top bike and just put some useless contraption that spins when your pedaling
