K'Andre finally threw a hit...except it was on his own team mate and will probably end the career of Chytil. If that elbow in the chin of Chytil was thrown on a Shark player it would probably have been a major and match penalty. Still not sure why Miller brought his elbow up on that play.

Aren't players self aware enough to know they aren't playing their best or making way too many mistakes? Don't those players WANT to make the playoffs for the chance at the cup? How can we do that if the newer guys dont get their time to shine? Even in his prime, how did anyone see Mika as someone worth investing in for the long run?

Mika is a total stud. 2-way player and highly skilled. It's just a rough patch.

This game was actually so hard to watch. My family turned it off bc the Rangers had no energy anywhereeeeee in this game. So disappointing. Give the 3rd/4th liners more time 😩
@mistreat288 күн бұрын
Hi Derek! It was quite embarrassing. My personal conclusions coming from this game: (1) Line changes were some kinda "one shot to nothing" (snooker), Lavi had to do something getting Zib rolling. It didn't work, so please go back to the original o-lines and give Zib a kick in his bum. (2) Currently the d-lines are a mess. They really are. The pairings don't fit, so please go back to Miller/Fox, Schneider/Trouba and Mancini/Jones. (3) Lindgren has to be the healthy scratch. No excuses. I don't care about his contract at 4.5m. He's such an uncertainty factor like...(4)...Miller, who's not playing consistently enough to be a Ranger long term. Maybe a trade could be necessary. Dunno. (5) If Shesty has a bad day like yesterday, the team's showing a confession of failure. Not acceptable for being a so-called cup contender. They have to bounce back against Detroit and also show some strength against the Jets. The least what we are waiting for. Think of the people paying 150 bucks for seeing this crap in a home game. :( I'm really angry. Keep up the good work, Derek, all the best, Dennis...LGR, nevertheless!

Rodon is simply awful. So predictable that he would give up all those homers. Just killer…especially when our bats have no spark. We’re in trouble boys
@crdudley21 күн бұрын
Kiermaier not on the WS roster. Rojas took Lux spot. Lux terrible against lefties.
@crdudley21 күн бұрын
The only reason Yankees were even in that game was Cole’s pitching and Stanton. Tonight you have a really good lefty, but the Dodgers are elite hitters who crush lefties. Barring a lifetime achievement by Rodon tonight you’re in for another crusher. The Yankees are built around Judge and can’t win without his bat. Ohtani is just a bonus to the Dodgers. They can win without him. They can win without Mookie. They can win without Freddy. Why? Depth. Where’s you Edman? Kike? Muncy? Lux? Your B guys who come up clutch.

Hi Derek! Thanks for the show, great analysis as always. Yeah, the occuring d-line situation with an oversupply of healthy and (!) good players seems to become an "issue" in the near future. Lavy shouldn't scratch Mancini and Jones, in my opinion. But surely you can't scratch a 4.5m Lindgren as well, even though I doubt his efficiency compared to those young guns in the long run, sorry. But I'm so happy that Smith and Carrick show up as major improvements on the team, which gives me a very good feeling for the cup run. I'm waiting for the ECF-backlash on Thursday, hopefully the Rangers will have their (small) revenge. All the best and take care, Dennis
@nysports223 күн бұрын
Couldn't agree more with your thoughts Dennis. On the one hand the overabundance of defenseman is a good problem to have but conversely someone deserving of playing time (likely Jones) is going to get the short end of the stick. Small sample size but Smith and Carrick are fitting in seamlessly with the group.

the dodger's are better than the yankee's also....it doens't mean they'll win but if they get good pitching they'll win...they have 1-9 not just ohtani, betts and freeman...but both hernandez's, smith, taylor, edman, muncy, all those guys are patient get on base and hit well. will smith is the best catcher in the playoffs and calls a great game...but it could be close depending on the pitching.

No question the Dodgers have the deeper lineup. Will be interesting to see if the Yankee pitching can keep them in check

This game would have went so differently if Detroit could bury their chances. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with our effort, and did a good job killing off their power plays. Of course I want more than just Panarin's line to score, but that doesn't concern me. We've had scoring up and down the lineup in previous games. Quick also looked good, he still surprises me. Hope we continue this energy for the next game and get a win in Toronto.
@Badnercalabrese29 күн бұрын
Nice to see everyone loves Panarin again - until the playoffs. Either way. Panarin gets this team to the playoffs. The supporting cast has to step up too. If this team cant win without Panarin getting over PPG - there is a problem.
@nysports229 күн бұрын
Panarin is relied upon too much in the regular season. Going to need much more offensive production from the Zibanejad line.

looked pretty good, puck movement looked good while being seemingly less turnover prone passes then last year. Only one game but not a bad start. Trouba and miller consistency this year is going to be the key and staying healthy with the youth with see from camp could serve us well.

The head coach should be fired. After he found out that Gano had a groin injury he should have gotten a back up kicker. The special teams coach should be fired for not having his punter practice extra points kicks, and also not reminding Gano not to be chasing anybody because of his groin injury. The guy who attempted to kick the extra points should be sent home for such a poor attempt. Gano should be traded or expelled for being an idiot, knowing he had a groin problem, out there chasing the kick returner. They all are a bunch of idiots.
