A TR6 camshaft but without the fuel injection? Sound lumpy to me, and without much more power. Also the panels look as though they are plastic, and the colour is, well...oh yes, after much thought...tacky in the extreme. Thumbs down I am afraid.

Brilliant car. Being sexist now but the wife could work on one of these. Tremendous cars, so miss the two that I had in the distant past.

I had an 827i when I worked in Germany, that car was very quick for a big car, I had it at 140mph on the autobahn between Dresden and Leipzig. It had a Honda, Williams, Renault V6 which gave it the oomph!

I just watched the episode with this car, without a doubt the best restoration and story of any car you have sold. Simply beautiful.

Typical response on EV's from an old man. Once the battery tech catches up EV's will outperform everything in almost every way.

I had one NDO812, always breaking down , had to kickstart every day, the starter that didn't work was called a Siba Dynastart, start it with the key the other way round and it had 4 reverse gears, imagine that 50mph in reverse!

I'm the new owner of the Cresta, I drove it home from Mathewsons, 85miles in total and it drove beautifully. The engine sounds very responsive & healthy with no smoke whatsoever on start up and pulls well in all gears but the overdrive doesn't work so maybe something simple like wiring or bad solenoid but that can wait till the summer as it's not a problem to me.

Buy what you like So if it was me Lancia Delta Integrale, mark 1 Escort RS1600, Lotus Esprit V8, Ford focus RS MK 1, Peugeot 205 Gti, mid engined Renault Clio V6 phase 2, Porsche 993 Turbo, Ferrari 355 targa roof, That would do me and I don’t care about values

I notice comments are off about the Moggie EV, shame as I am someone who has been in the trade or attached since 1982, first at a low volume British car maker and restorer, in later years (1997-2020) as a head fabricator for several UK based F1 teams. I was going to refrain from my EV thoughts, but instead concentrate on the approvals these conversions go through to become UK road legal. Have seen some shaky and even very bad work both online and even on UK TV shows featuring battery conversions. One that sticks out was a Fiat 500L, where the front void / spare wheel / Fuel tank area was competely filled with a battery box clagged in, then a cover which covered the "work". I was involved in the past with both doing work on new build sports cars to get 49 states USA approval, and later on the development of a 2 seater tourer in the style of a 500SL but British made, making stuff like crash structures and seeing the results of tests on said pieces. When I saw the 500 conversion I instantly wondered about how that mass up front had totally changed the way the car would react in a shunt, my missus had a head on in a similar car in the 80's and they are tougher than you think, the front folded back and she did hurt her leg from a pedal, but I hate to think what the same crash would be like with a big steel box welded into the front void full of nicads, just the mass and way the energy is transferred back into the passenger area, also many of these EV conversions are on decades old cars that often have been repaired and may have lost structural integrity compared to when new / designed. We used to have brand new (real) Cobra's and ACE's at AC for example tested by TRL by smashing into walls when we developed the MK4 version, what real World stress or crash tests do all these classic EV conversions (of varying engineering quality) go through, and who signs them off as safe? A discussion I don't see anywhere out there in the motoring press?

I had a 1938/9 Rover 14. Wonderful car. I drove it for 30 years and did over 300,000 miles. Never had a problem! As said below the brakes were not good and so the freewheel was scary, but improved the fuel consumption from around 14MPG to 18. We found the engine was a bit strange - a 14 block with a modified 16 head. We contacted Rover and they said it was 1 of 9 made for the racing car.

Ford got it right with the Mk 2 Cortina 1600GT. Only the 1600E or Lotus would be a better buy if you wanted a late 60s Ford.
