I'd like to view this full video, but I don't have a credit card. Is there another way for me to watch the video? I am currently summarizing Evan Usler's research studies and putting them into a model. This video would help me a lot!

Thankss for posting the video. I have seen some cases around 4 to 7 yrs of age and they seemed to talk a bit faster than usual and repeating last syllables of words specially in conversations or monologues. In some cases it just dissappears with no intervention.

As the mother complained about her 5yo starting to repeat “um”, she was constantly pronouncing “um” in her speech. Poor child was simply imitating abnormal speech behavior of his mother:-(

It’s a resounding YES!!! Speech therapy is designed to confuse a young speech skill learner, switch his attention from natural imitation of ORAL word production of his parents to trying to pronounce WRITTEN words, and turn him into a stutterer for life.

Im a 39 yr old male. I developed a stutter later on in life. I blame it on my nerves. Anyway, I just watched the video of the kids talking about stuttering, the video is about 14 years old. It made me really sad that you had to turn the comments off. I wanted to say that I am an adult with a stutter, and the worse part is (as other people have mentioned), is that it only gets worse the more I think about it. So the more I notice it happening, the more it happens, vicious cycle... I wanted to ask if you guys had any advice for me because I have now come to telling people that I'm sorry and that I know I can be a lot and I hope that I didn't make them nervous or uncomfortable in any way. Most times I feel like I'm met with pity more so than sympathy or empathy. And really i dont want any of them. So what can I do to stop apologizing or feel like I need to at least. I just want to have normal interactions with people in social situations. What's out feelings, traumatized or like a run someone else's day. Don't get me wrong, I never had any sort of bad feelings towards anyone that had a speech impediment outside myself.
