When they needed a wonderful actress who was Japanese, Nobu was the go-to girl. Such a beautiful and wonderful lady.

Almost 40 years later, since I went to Gilley's in Texas with Cheryl Roth! But I am Finally writing a book about my time in the biz, and Cheryl is getting mentioned from that performance, along with Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee! Such fun times, those 80s! I don't know if Cheryl is still around, but at least the internet is Forever!

Thanks for sharing these! I lost touch with Cheryl years ago, but I did help her out when she went to Gilley's in Texas to perform at their Fan Fair in July 1985. My video of that is here on KZbin.

I knew Cheryl, and went with her in July 1985 to Gilley's in Texas! I have pictures but no video of that event, the Texas Fan Fair, but I made a short video of the pictures, here on KZbin.

So-called "Billy Barty" wasn't even his real name. He was born William John Bertanzetti. Anyone that sells out their heritage altering their birth name, is deceitful & disrespectful to their parents.

I think she was highly underrated, both as a Hollywood beauty AND as an actor. I fell in love with her in "Forbidden Planet" in 1956, and then again in her two Twilight Zone episodes, both classics of the genre. RIP.

By and large nicely done. Joanna was a very, very interesting woman. Obviously, a great sense of humor as well, not to mention possessing the guts of a bandit. My only criticism of this show is that it simply was not long enough. I would have liked to have heard her version of why she left acting for writing in the first place, which apparently was because she was involved in a serious car accident. I would have also liked to hear more about her writing process and any general experiences and stories she could impart about her time as an actress in Hollywood. Joanna is well known of course to have appeared in the role of Tanna, in the infamous movie, "Plan 9 from Outer Space". With her sense of humor, can you imagine some of the stories she could have regaled us with about Ed Wood's most notorious film?
