Per la nitidezza è uguale al nikon 70-200 FL sulla velocità un po' meno e risulta piu' pesante ma per la differenza di prezzo e' un vero affare.

What a pleasant surprise. I set out to learn how to use my new ND filter and ended up taking part in an awesome hike! Thanks for both the 10 stop ND tutorial and for this hike! Next time I'd like to come along for the hike in the dark back, too 🙂

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed! The hike in the dark was an adventure because I had to climb a tree to escape a wild boar and I became a little lost as well.

Thanks much! I appreciate your candid admission of being too lazy to re-expose for the time difference in taking your baseline and eventually making the shot. 40'? Makes sense to me!

Il be brutally honest its 2024 i used z9s in scottish highlands (through a company mine was sponsored by) after 3 days into my 2 weeks mountain climbers shoot , i hated the camera the lenses , i realised they were second rate compared to my 24-70 fl ed vr and 70-200 fl ed vr pro lenses , it became obviously clear early on , the Z equivalents didnt crop in as close as the F versions , WHY same happened printing on high res printers over 300 dots per inch (9600 dpi printers) confirmed my suspicions , so why are my pro f lenses sharper than these all new singing danceing Z counterparts unedited ? Marketing . Suggests most new camera owners will edit their images adding what the camera and lens falls short on ! Shocking . But modern marketing isnt to be trusted , its a numbers game .. after 2 solid weeks with z9s and familiarising buttons and menus , i immediately bought another d850 + grip on returning home feb 2024 , my trust in modern gear has slumped , before buying check all reviews , ask yourself why when testing say a z 85 f1.2 against the f mount 85mm f 1.8 AND NOT the f mount 85 f 1.4 ? Because the z mount 85. 1.2 is no match for the pro f mount lens , like most other z mount counterparts , pro fast f mount lenses were just made to well ! Yet the z pushers wont tell you this , as d850s fly off the shelves , Z cameras are seemingly disposable

Why go with an F/2.8 in that light? Go with much cheaper lens with a long reach 400mm with F/5.6 in that light will be better. Just think about the huge amount of money you could have saved.
@JoshProstejovsky11 ай бұрын
You are absolutely right. But I went with the F/2.8 because I can have the option to put a teleconverter on it and use it for wildlife.

Hey Josh...Jerry here...i just watched your video on Long Exposure with ND filter. I think my error was to not switch to MF instead of AF. I took the shot....then put the filter on but was in manual mode but af. I did a 8.5 sec exposure but was in AF...So I will try tomorrow or thursday and will try to remember the steps..so let me review and please get back to me..first take photo to see settings. place in MF and multiply x 1000 the shutter speed ex 1/30 x 1000= 13 second exposure. with a ten stop exposure...how do i add a copy of the photo to show u the results for Critque?

05:24......you have set the AF correctly, screw in the filter. And the focus changes :)) There are always slight shifts of the front element of the lens. This is not a good method.

Hello Josh Thank you for your presntation ! I see you are using Nikon .I have a D 700 D 300s and D 7100. I am very happy with Nikon ,but to advance into Mirrorless system I purchased into the Olympus, Lumix system at the OM D e1 mark two and Lumix G 85 level .Taking in consideration processor size and higher ISO concerns what are your thoughts ! Thank you in advance for any input !!!!!

I have been shooting with the D850 "which I still own" for years as a wildlife/bird photographer, and been shooting the Z9 for close to a year now. The D850 still excels in certain categories where the Z9 and ALL mirrorless fail at, first the OVF, there is NOTHING like a OVF, second is the battery life, the D850 with the grip "which I use, I use the Velo with wasabi batteries, same as the Nikon brand for half the price" can go for days before worrying about the battery, remember the D850 does not have to power an electronic viewfinder, and the third thing is AF, yes mirrorless have eye and animal tracking, but it does fail in certain situations where the background has more contrasts than the object in the foreground, the sensor most of the time tries to pick up the higher contrast subject, which is a no no is bird and wildlife photography. What also happens with these AF/EYE/SUBJECT tracking technologies is that most people forget how to frame their subject and rely on the tracking to do the work for them. The reason I got the Z9 was mostly for it's video capabilities, where DSLR's stink at, the bigger buffer compared to the D850 and the higher FPS, which all these features are not needed for landscape photography. If they had made a D850 DSLR with the specs of the Z9, I would have gone with the DSLR. And don't buy into the BS most of these youtuber snake oil $$$$$ salesmen try to sell people, they get angry when someone calls them out on their BS, heck every week they try to sell everyone the new and "better" camera. For them it's all about clicks $$$ and not PHOTOGRAPHY. Another reason why most of those channels, pretty much all of them have tanked in their viewership. I also owned the D500 since inception, killed it last year in a freak mishap, still miss it.
@Marko-od7eb Жыл бұрын
@gordon9177 You can't even compare these two regarding batter life. D850 blows it out of water especially with vertical grip.

Hi Josh, technically the higher noise is caused by lower exposure - as you make the exposure time shorter, you let less light to reach the sensor, and less light means more noise. The same happens when the scene gets dark - you're forced to either increase the exposure (set longer shutter speed or wider aperture), or increase ISO which makes the image brighter but reveals all the noise.
@JoshProstejovsky2 жыл бұрын
You would technically be correct there, ISO does not cause noise, but rather makes it “visible”. But nonetheless keeping the ISO low will reduce noise in your image.
