Very interesting video….for me both have merit and both have something lacking…..I would like to see, hear what Korg may have….I’d like to think that maybe in the next couple of years, both models will be super ceded….to something even better….that’s when I plan to buy….I have had in the past 39 years, Korg Poly800II, Roland D50, Korg M1 and a Korg Triton…..all great……never owned a Yamaha model…..maybe next one…..maybe…

The Montage has a wide stereo image, rounder and warmer EQ on acoustic instruments. It sounds fuller, especially in the 200-300 Hz range, feels more real while the Fantom has the edge on some of its synth sound in my humble opinion although its acoustic sounds feel thinner. I would buy the Montage, but not only for its sounds, mostly for its overall architecture.

Love your knowledge and presentation about pros and cons of the NS4. If NS4 had an option for screen sharing that would be a plus due to its small onboard display.

1. Hammond 2. Nord (but not by much and if you consider versatility, it goes to #1. 3. Yamaha. The Yamaha is VERY good and would be #1 EXCEPT nearly ONLY to be beaten by Nord or actual Hammond. Reason? The Leslie on the Yamaha is too brittle.

I've just bought the yc 73 and I find the sound of the hammonds very shrill when the Lesley is turned on ( the new Studio version ) . Listening to this I can hear it in the samples . The Nord and the Hammond have a much rounder sound in the upper registers . The sound is OK in the middle of the keyboard but becomes unuseable as you climb into the upper ranges . If I try to EQ the sounds to dial out the screaming sound in the high notes the middle range becomes dull and uninteresting

O modx soou melhor no fone.

Both are serviceable in a mix. Which one to choice boils down your preferences and priorities. People tend to prefer what they choose. Confirmation bias. Not surprised you like the MODX better.

am I wrong, Phantom sounds more "metallic" than Yamaha and Yamana sounds more warm? I can't decide, which one is better? Need help

When you played the Rhodes on the MPC Key at 3:47 was that a preset or tweaked? I'm trying to get a good smooth Rhodes sound out of it with not so much of the bell sound and feel like I'm struggling.

yamaha em piano. akai em rhodes. akai em organ + leslie. mas é também uma questão de gosto. Akai ainda tem muitas opções para editar o som de forma a conseguir melhor resultado final. Só foi pena não comparares também os strings. estou mesmo a ponderar adquirir um. Nuno, muito obrigado mais uma vez pelo teu trabalho.

Every one of them sounds like a tonewheel Hammond - of which I’ve played over a dozen. And depending on the condition of the organ and the Leslie (of which there are many choices!), each sounds unique. For me nowadays, being over 60 and no longer eager to move the A100 or even that dual manual modeler, the Yamaha would be my choice. Just because it can also replace my old Alesis QS7.1 AND my VA synth. That Yamaha plus a weighted 88 key controller could do it all.

In linea di massima come suoni generali trovo meglio i suoni della kurzweil, specie piani e archi. Della Yamaha forse per il mio gusto personale trovo un po meglio solo il clone dell'organo Hammond.

Boa tarde. Preciso da sua ajuda e da sua sincera opinião. Adoro os eps fm da yamaha, especialmente os dx. No entanto, tive um modx 8+ e vendi, por não conseguir habituar me a uma leve sujeira semelhante a um hissing noise ou quite noise que a onda fm faz naturalmente, especialmente quando eu tocava os eps dx em dinâmicas mais baixas, aí notava se bastante esse ruído, até ao cair da nota. Disseram me que era característico do motor fm, que o dx 7 fazia. Sy99 também, etc. notava mais quando aplicava compressor. E claro, muito notório a tocar com headphones. Estou inclinado para comprar um yc73 (vendi o modx) e gostaria de saber se os yc por terem motor fm, também produzem esse ruído de que falo, natural do motor fm, não sai um som completamente limpo, mas tem sempre aquele som “hissing” analógico, ao tocar a nota . Esse yc também faz isso?
