Jim McMahon was traded by McCaskey the owners because Jim McMahon didn’t like the way they ran the team. Jim McMahon was quoted as saying I only spoke to Michael McCaskey one time and he said to me hey Jim, we don’t have to win every single time. We just have to be good enough to fill the stadium every Sunday. And guess what? The Bears have the same owners to this day. Jim McMahon was traded a few years later because he didn’t agree with this philosophy.

@ a excellent book on Hughes, is Empire, the life, legend and madness of Howard Hughes. By Bartlett and Steele. The first movie was the most accurate. It was taken from a book written by Noah Dietrich and Bob Thomas. The original movie was a 2 night mini series, 2 hours each night. It came out in 1977. The shorter version is still available, I believe, and it was called, the Amazing Howard Hughes. It took his life as a 14 year old boy, to his flight aboard an air ambulance flight to Houston Texas, which he died in flight of renal failure. He was buried next to his parents in Glenwood Cemetery in Houston Texas.
