Dear friend, every person on Earth sees the world in his own way. Nothing is industrially made in nature. Or in other words, "It's not beautiful what is beautiful: it's beautiful what only I like". Fashion is a disease. And I am totally immune to it. What you wrote here is absolutely normal. But I would write it a little differently: Normal is to go without shoes on this planet. I discovered this natural pleasure at the age of 3 (in 1962) when I grew up in a village in my country, Romania. I still have this pleasure now, as a recent retiree. That's how I made all the mountains, forests and geography... In fact, life's too short to wear shoes !!! I wish you all the best, in peace !

Between 10am and 4pm the mounted sentries change every hour and for the rest of the day only dismounted sentries remain.

They are active soldiers in the king's army!!!!

They are fine soldiers but here they're really just upholding tradition for tourists.
